When Aaron Glenn took over the New York Jets<\/a>, it was always going to be viewed as a long-term rebuild, something that Jets fans have been seeing for years.<\/p>\n

In Glenn’s first year, it was tough to watch\u00a0as the team posted a 3-14 record and played meaningless games midway through the year.<\/p>\n

But now, after a good free agency period with veterans being signed on both sides of the ball, expectations have risen.<\/p>\n

However, the road ahead is going to be tough, and for Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay, if Glenn’s team doesn’t start to show tangible improvement, New York could be on the lookout for a new coach.<\/p>\n

“There was a strong case to be made for Aaron Glenn to be a one-and-done coach for the New York Jets,” Kay wrote<\/a>. “The team was effectively out of the playoff hunt by October and finished the dismal season with a 3-14 record.<\/p>\n

“If New York can’t make a playoff push\u2014or at least remain in the running until the final weeks of the season\u2014it will be difficult to envision Glenn returning for a third season in 2027.”<\/p>\n

Is Glenn truly under pressure?<\/p>\n

We know the NFL is a results business, and sometimes teams, in my opinion, are too quick to move on from a coach.<\/p>\n

Look at Dam Campbell in Detroit. He went 5-7, then 3-13-1 and 9-8 in his three years, before it clicked in Year 4.<\/p>\n

Shouldn’t Glenn get the same amount of time? After all, this roster is still being rebuilt.<\/p>\n

Moving on after two years will put the Jets right back where they were pre-Glenn.<\/p>\n

I get the need for results, but as we saw with Campbell, sometimes sticking with the same person has benefits. Granted, holding on too long can be catastrophic, too.<\/p>\n

Either way, 2026 is looming as a big one for Glenn and the Jets.\u00a0<\/p>\n
