With the 2026 NFL Draft<\/a> just around the corner, the Cleveland Browns<\/a> and general manager Andrew Berry have a perfect opportunity to continue their strong efforts to rebuild the roster this offseason.<\/p>\n

One of the primary needs for the Browns leading up to the upcoming draft will be addressing the team\u2019s pass-catching group, as Berry and the front office use most of their resources on the offensive line in free agency. Luckily for the struggling franchise, there are plenty of options within the draft this year that could help out on offense.<\/p>\n

However, while many are concerned with the wide receiving corps for next season, the tight end room will need extra support due to the organization parting ways with star David Njoku this offseason. Fortunately for the Browns, 2025 third-round pick Harold Fannin Jr. looks to be a star in the making, making the position less of a need, rather a way to add depth to the current room.<\/p>\n

In order for Fannin to reach his highest potential, the Browns must consider targeting newly-hired head coach Todd Monken\u2019s former tight end and Georgia prospect Oscar Delp<\/a> in the later rounds of the 2026 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n

Why Delp is Perfect For The Browns<\/a>\"Oct<\/p>\n

Delp, a former highly-touted recruit coming out of high school, is now one of the most polarizing prospects in this year\u2019s draft class. Throughout his four-year stint with the Georgia Bulldogs<\/a>, Delp was buried on a loaded depth chart that featured the likes of Las Vegas Raiders star Brock Bowers and Lawson Luckie. Still, the 22-year-old playmaker managed to record 70 catches for 854 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.<\/p>\n

Despite his lack of production at the college level, Delp\u2019s adequate route-running ability and a strong frame (6-foot-5, 245 lbs.) makes him a terrific flyer on Day Two or Day Three of the draft. In addition to his solid skill set, his history of playing for Monken<\/a> would give him a leg up heading into his rookie season, along with assisting him in his development.<\/p>\n

Looking at how Delp would fit on the Browns roster in 2026, the underrated prospect would become an ideal second tight end behind Fannin. Cleveland signed veteran Jack Stoll this offseason, but his primary role will be as a blocking tight end. Delp has proven to be a well-rounded run blocker, which could easily help his case of seeing playing time early in his career.<\/p>\n

Monken has a rich track record of running two tight end sets throughout his time in the NFL, as evidenced by the Baltimore Ravens\u2019 former combination of Mark Andrew and Isaiah Likely, who excelled under his coaching.
