The Green Bay Packers<\/a> made a few key signings during the first wave of NFL free agency, including adding cornerback Benjamin St-Juste.<\/p>\n

St-Juste signed a two-year deal worth up to $10.5 million<\/a> with Green Bay after spending the 2025 campaign with the Los Angeles Chargers<\/a>. The 28-year-old began his career with the Washington Commanders<\/a> as a third-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n

Though signing St-Juste to a deal worth just above $5 million annually doesn’t seem like an eye-popping move, the veteran has a chance to break out with the Packers in 2026, and here’s why.<\/p>\n

Why Benjamin St-Juste could be in for breakout 2026 season<\/p>\n

St-Juste quietly had a nice season with the Chargers in 2025. In 263 coverage snaps, the Minnesota product allowed just a 50% completion rate on 38 targets and a 64 passer rating when targeted.<\/a><\/p>\n

He was also able to snag an interception and knock down seven passes.<\/p>\n

After struggling in coverage during most of his tenure with the Commanders, St-Juste took a step in the right direction this past year, and could put it all together in 2026 with the Packers.<\/p>\n

Keisean Nixon and Carrington Valentine are slated to be Green Bay’s starting boundary corners, with Javon Bullard handling duties in the slot. However, St-Juste should also be a vital piece to the secondary, as he has the versatility to play on the outside and in the slot.<\/p>\n

Additionally, St-Juste is also a plus contributor on special teams, playing over 300 total special teams snaps<\/a> spread across multiple units for the Chargers in 2025.<\/p>\n

Overall, St-Juste isn’t a splash signing, but don’t be shocked if he breaks out in 2026 and establishes himself as a long-term asset for the Packers.<\/p>\n
