The Kansas City Chiefs<\/a>‘ offseason has seen the franchise do some moving and shaking as general manager Brett Veach has tried to refresh the roster.<\/p>\n

Kenneth Walker has come in, but Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson have gone to the L.A. Rams<\/a>, so the roster is going to look a little different.<\/p>\n

But Kansas City has two first-round draft picks to work with, which many think is ideal to continue this soft reset from the AFC West franchise.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, who should the Chiefs have their eyes on? NFL.com’s Eric Edholm has named Kansas City’s ideal two first picks, and he’s landed on LSU’s Mansoor Delane and UCF’s edge Malachi Lawrence.<\/p>\n

“Chiefs fans weren\u2019t crazy about the Delane-Lawrence pairing in my latest mock,\u00a0but they\u2019d be getting the top corner in the draft and a rush project who fits their mold well,” Edholm wrote<\/a>. “My thinking was that it would be harder finding a corner of Delane\u2019s caliber at the end of Round 1, and I suspect they\u2019ll draft multiple players at the position.<\/p>\n

“With picks coming at Nos. 40 and 74, the Chiefs can afford to gamble on Lawrence\u2019s upside and swing back later for help at tackle, receiver and possibly tight end.”<\/p>\n

Chiefs’ draft approach a fascinating watch<\/p>\n

The franchise is going to be able to address several needs, given that they have nine draft selections.<\/p>\n

The first two round picks, plus a selection in each of the next three rounds, before the Chiefs have three picks in the fifth-round, before one pick in the sixth round.<\/p>\n

So, there are multiple avenues the franchise can attack, and who knows, they might even package some of those fifth-round picks and look to trade up into the earlier rounds.<\/p>\n

If you are going to do a soft reset like the Chiefs are planning, they’ve executed their plan nicely.<\/p>\n

Now, all that is left is to nail the draft, and with nine picks, the Chiefs have the odds in their favor.<\/p>\n
