The motivation comes from the possibility that current starter Bo Nix won’t be fully and completely back to 100 percent when Week 1 rolls around”, wrote Florio.

Where this information could be coming from is an interesting question, especially given recent reports that Bo Nix is actually further along in the offseason program than he usually is, despite having to recover from a broken ankle.

This one is so out there that it feels like it almost has to be an April Fool’s joke, but Florio doesn’t seem to be reporting it as one. Instead, the team traded for Russell Wilson when the Green Bay Packers wouldn’t give him up. Now, it’s shocking that this is even a discussion.

Even if Nix wasn’t on track to play in Week 1, the Broncos have a quarterback room that they love. Regardless of how poorly you feel Jarrett Stidham played in the AFC Championship Game, he is still a high-level backup quarterback. Behind him is Sam Ehlinger, a player the coaching staff likes much more than anyone likely realizes.

Ehlinger could be the No. 2 option for several teams and he could push Stidham for that role this coming season. There is no need for Rodgers to be involved in the discussion.

On top of that, Rodgers is a competitor. He knows that this is Nix’s team. He’s not going to go anywhere where he isn’t the starting quarterback.

HOT READ: Broncos considering major position switch for third-year player in 2026

It would be interesting to hear where Florio heard this idea, or if he is just trolling NFL fans, but this is a move that is not in the cards.

More Broncos Content

J.K.
