The Carolina Panthers are in a good position for the NFL draft. They’ve filled most needs, which means they can truly just add talent. Doing so will certainly help plenty of players on the roster.<\/p>\n

However, it will also hurt some players whose spots will be given to those rookies.<\/a> Here are the Panthers with the most to gain and most to lose come draft night. <\/p>\n

Most to lose: Trevin Wallace<\/p>\n

As of now, Trevin Wallace is the de facto starting linebacker opposite Devin Lloyd. That would not be a bad thing for him, as he would have a much better linebacker leading, freeing him up with less responsibility.<\/p>\n

However, that’s only if he remains a starter. Dan Morgan met with Jacob Rodriguez and Anthony Hill Jr., and they’re both in play in the second-round. If Morgan dips into<\/a> the deep LB class, Wallace will be the big loser for the Panthers. <\/p>\n

Most to gain: Bryce Young\"Carolina<\/p>\n

The Panthers went off in free agency, but most of the high-profile action was on the defensive side of the ball. And even the offensive signings were just linemen brought in to replace other linemen. Upgrades weren’t necessarily made.<\/p>\n

Dave Canales said he wants to rebuild the offense to fit what Bryce Young does best<\/a>, which means more weapons in the draft. Giving Young more to play with will make him a much better quarterback, and that seems pretty likely right now. <\/p>\n

Most to lose: Nick Scott<\/p>\n

Nick Scott was a starting safety basically by default last year. He wasn’t very good, but the Panthers didn’t have other options. They re-signed him because, as of now, they still don’t have other options to start.<\/p>\n

But if they draft a safety, which Canales said they’re looking at<\/a>, it will spell the end of Scott’s time as a starter. The Panthers may draft Dillon Thieneman or Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, and either would be a massive upgrade. <\/p>\n

Most to gain: Brad Idzik\"Carolina<\/p>\n

Much like Bryce Young, new play-caller Brad Idzik stands to gain a ton if the Panthers do invest in weapons on offense. Right now, he has Chuba Hubbard, Jalen Coker, and Tetairoa McMillan as real, legitimate offensive weapons to call plays for. <\/p>\n

Imagine if he gets Kenyon Sadiq, Makai Lemon, KC Concepcion, Jadarian Price, Denzel Boston, or Eli Stowers, though. Suddenly, his job is a whole lot easier and probably a lot more fun.
