Yes, they added some great pieces like Trey Hendrickson, but they also endured an overwhelming amount of losses. Their depth is hurting really badly right now.

The Ravens lost a few key starters, most notably Tyler Linderbaum. One of the more overlooked losses, though, is Jordan Stout. The All-Pro punter enjoyed a career year in 2025, and as a result, he rightfully cashed in his golden ticket for a three-year, $12.3 million contract with John Harbaugh’s New York Giants. It was a market-setting deal.

Stout’s replacement will more than likely come via the 2026 NFL Draft. Unless there’s some late free agent move in the cards, that appears to be the play. To fill the void, Baltimore is taking a look at Elon’s Jeff Yurk. They held a private workout with him on Wednesday.

The Baltimore Ravens held a private workout with Elon punter Jeff Yurk today, per source.

The FCS’ all-time leader in yards per punt and a two-time first-team FCS All-American, Yurk averaged 58.6 yards per punt at Hula a few months back.

Popular name for teams in need of a…

— Ryan Fowler (@_RyanFowler_) April 1, 2026Baltimore Ravens could replace Jordan Stout with Jeff Yurk in the NFL Draft

It’s going to be hard to replace Stout. He was the best punter in the league last season after all, and his ability to flip the field with authority will be sorely missed. In the same breath, though, let’s be honest, punter is one of the least valuable positions in football. The front office clearly wasn’t going to lose much sleep over losing Stout, and as they search for a new punter, they should remain fairly calm.

Yurk isn’t a name that jumps off the page. Again, he’s a punter. But he also went to an FCS school at Elon. It’s always going to be hard to draw much attention to yourself given those circumstances. However, he did really well for himself in four collegiate seasons.

The former Elon Phoenix unleashed 217 career punts in college and averaged 44.6 yards per punt. The best part? Yurk markedly improved year after year.

He was especially consistent over the last two seasons, with 47.8 yards per punt in 2024 and 48.3 yards in 2025. He earned first-team All-American honors for both of those showings.

Yurk also has a very strong leg. His college career-long was a booming 74 yards last year. He can certainly pin opposing teams deep in their own territory. There’s tremendous potential there.

He may not be any Stout coming out of the gate, but if he can continue that development trend he showcased at the college ranks, there’s plenty of reason to believe there’s an above-average punter in there.

If the Ravens added him, whether that be with one of their late-round selections or as an undrafted free agent, Yurk would be lucky to get to work with senior special teams coach Randy Brown. Brown has been a kicking guru throughout his 23 years as a coach, developing Sam Koch and Jordan Stout. After the news of his workout, Yurk could be next on that list.

The Baltimore Ravens were hit hard in free agency.
