Linebacker Drew Greenlaw joining the Denver Broncos<\/a>\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0work out as planned in 2025.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Greenlaw dealt with injuries amid eight games played, and the Broncos cut him after the season.\u00a0He recently\u00a0opened up\u00a0about things not working out in Denver after his\u00a0previous\u00a0successful run with the San Francisco 49ers<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHonestly, it was a tough year, brother. It was a tough year. One of my toughest \u2026 years,\u201d Greenlaw told former NFL<\/a> offensive tackle\u00a0Terron Armstead\u00a0during\u00a0The Set<\/a>\u00a0podcast on Monday.\u00a0\u201cLove the organization, great organization, great people in the organization. I\u00a0felt\u00a0like the training staff was second to none. Just teammate-wise, man, great teammates, man.\u00a0A really, really close building.\u00a0Very, very similar\u00a0to how it was in the Niners, man.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Greenlaw rejoined the 49ers this offseason with a one-year,\u00a0$7.5\u00a0million<\/a>\u00a0deal.\u00a0With the return, Greenlaw looks forward to teaming up with 49ers All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner again.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Fred, he came in a year before me, but I swear, it just\u00a0feel\u00a0like a certain feeling we got when we just play,” Greenlaw said. “It’s not for each other, but when we look across that, and we see each other,\u00a0you\u00a0dang right it’s for each other.\u00a0It’s\u00a0like,\u00a0\u2018you’re not going to let me down,\u00a0I’m\u00a0not going to let you down.\u2019\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

“It’s such a weird connection, but he knows I’m going to put all I got on the line, and I know he’s going to do the same, and that’s all you can ask for.\u00a0It’s\u00a0like a partner in crime,\u201d Greenlaw added. \u201cIt’s\u00a0all going to work out like\u00a0it’s\u00a0supposed to, but\u00a0I’m\u00a0thankful for it all. I’m thankful for all the relationships that I’ve had for those six years, and kept along this past year, and will continue to keep along this year, too, as well.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
