The Packers have \u201clong benefited in football from being the only NFL team without a private owner,\u201d allowing their football operation to \u201cmake decisions without meddling.\u201d However, it is a \u201cpotential disadvantage in business.\u201d As teams are \u201craising significant capital selling minority stakes to private-equity firms or deep-pocketed individuals,\u201d Policy fears the Packers \u201ceventually falling behind.\u201d Policy sounded \u201cmore open to granting licensing rights to the Packers\u2019 practice facilities\u201d such as the Don Hutson Center, Ray Nitschke Field and Clarke Hinkle Field. The team also \u201cincreased ticket prices for the 2026 season between $4 and $22 per seat,\u201d depending on location. Wood wrote, \u201cDon\u2019t be surprised if there\u2019s another increase in the near future.\u201d Policy stressed that the economics are \u201cnot a problem for now.\u201d But he noted that it \u201cdoesn\u2019t take long in the current arms race of professional football to fall behind\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenbaypressgazette.com\/story\/sports\/nfl\/packers\/2026\/04\/01\/ceo-ed-policy-has-healthy-paranoia-about-packers-financial-future\/89382147007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.greenbaypressgazette.com\/story\/sports\/nfl\/packers\/2026\/04\/01\/ceo-ed-policy-has-healthy-paranoia-about-packers-financial-future\/89382147007\/\">GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE, 4\/1<\/a>). <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph sections-franchises \">LOOKING INTERNATIONALLY: Wood in a separate piece wrote it \u201cremains possible the Packers could play a scheduled road game internationally.\u201d Two current options exist: against the Saints in Paris, or the Lions in Munich. Policy said, \u201cFrankly, I would love to play the Lions in Munich this year.\u201d Wood: \u201cMuch better than venturing into Ford Field.\u201d What makes that matchup \u201ceven more of a possibility\u201d is Germany was selected as \u201cone of three primary global markets\u201d for the Packers along with the U.K. and Ireland.
