It was his best season since his rookie year with the Denver Broncos back in 2022, where he caught 33 of 55 targets for 411 yards and two touchdowns.

All in all, it was impressive to see from a player who bounced around over the last few years and never really found his home in Denver or in New York. But now, if things go as planned, he may become Miami’s pass-catching tight end of the future.

(I know, I know, #PumpTheBrakes)

Fans were happy to hear Dulcich would be coming back this season, after signing a one-year deal worth $3.25 million in the offseason. But it was hearing Miami’s new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan name-drop Dulcich as one of the players he’s most excited to see develop this offseason — that really got me excited for what’s to come out of the 26-year-old tight end.

Jon-Eric Sullivan names Greg Dulcich as the player he’s most excited to watch develop in 2026

In a recent interview with ESPN’s Kevin Clark, when asked which player on the 2026 Dolphins he was most excited to see take the next step and improve this season, Jon-Eric Sullivan named the 6’4 TE from Glendale, California.

“Dulcich. I thought he had a really good backend of the season. I want to see if he can build on that. That’s why we brought him back.“

Now, I’m a big fan of Dulcich.

The truth is, I drafted him in a devy league before the 2022 draft. Part of that was because I liked what I saw on tape, and the other — quite honestly — was because of his beautiful mane of hair.

But I never expected the new GM of the Dolphins to throw his name out there when asked which player he was most excited about. After all, it was Mike McDaniel who went on the Dan LeBatard show and praised Jaylen Waddle shortly after he was hired.

Waddle makes sense… Dulcich — whom I again love — not so much.

Or does it!

The Green Bay Way

The Green Bay Packers aren’t known for their godly wide receivers, and one look at their offense over the last few seasons and you’ll see just how critical their young tight ends were.

Tucker Kraft played 86% of the Packers’ snaps last season, while missing half the season. Even still, he finished fourth on the team in receptions with 32. The previous year, he started all 17 games for the Packers and finished second with 50 receptions on a godly 70 targets.

Now, I’m not saying Dulcich can compare to Kraft, but at the same time, why not?

Both were at the top of their respective draft classes, despite other key names going before them.

And yet, Kraft leapfrogged Luke Musgrave on the depth chart, a player who was drafted higher than him back in the 2023 NFL Draft. They’re not necessarily comparable players, but to watch Kraft become one of the more dynamic pass-catchers in the NFL over the last few years has been reassuring.

As it was, when we heard Sully shout Dulcich’s name from the rooftops.

There may not be a Tyreek Hill or Jaylen Waddle on the roster, but the Dolphins do have a bunch of young players — who at one time or another — were highly thought of throughout the draft community. Jalen Tolbert, Tutu Atwell, Ronnie Harrison, Josh Uche…the list goes on and on.

Greg Dulcich is also one of those guys — and if you ask me (and Sully), I think his best football is still ahead.

What are your thoughts on Jon-Eric Sullivan mentioning Greg Dulcich as the player he’s most excited to see take the next step in 2026? Do you think he’ll make an even greater impact in this offense? Or was the backend of the 2025 season just a mirage?
