Former LA Chargers defender Ja’Sir Taylor<\/p>\n

A former member of the Los Angeles Chargers<\/a>\u2018 2025 roster has signed with a new team.<\/p>\n

According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, former Bolts cornerback Ja\u2019Sir Taylor<\/a> has signed a one-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals<\/a>. The value terms have yet to be revealed.<\/p>\n

Bengals signed former Chargers free-agent CB Ja\u2019Sir Taylor to a one-year contract.<\/p>\n

Taylor spent the first four seasons of his career with the Chargers before being dealt to the New York Jets<\/a> in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the 2028 NFL<\/a> Draft.<\/p>\n

The cornerback played 57 games, starting 11, recording 1 interception, 11 pass deflections and 84 sacks during his time in LA. The defender logged another pass deflection and 13 more tackles in his time in New York.<\/p>\n

Now headed to the AFC North, Ja\u2019Sir Taylor has the opportunity to start revamping his career.<\/p>\n

Ja\u2019Sir Taylor Isn\u2019t the Only Chargers CB to Leave\"Benjamin<\/p>\n

Ja\u2019Sir Taylor isn\u2019t the only former Los Angeles Chargers cornerback to leave the team this offseason, as Benjamin St-Juste<\/a> also departed the team.<\/p>\n

St-Juste, who signed with the Bolts on a one-year deal, signed with the Green Bay Packers<\/a> on a two-year, $10 million deal.<\/p>\n

The Canadian defender recorded an interception, 7 pass deflections and 37 tackles in 16 games for the Los Angeles team. The former Washington Commanders<\/a> draft pick allowed 243 passing yards, or 15.2 yards per game, in his single season under the Bolts\u2019 head coach Jim Harbaugh.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles allowed 179.9 pass yards per game in the 2025 season, the fifth-fewest<\/a> in the league.<\/p>\n

The loss of Ja\u2019Sir Taylor and Benjamin St-Juste is a huge blow to the depth at the cornerback spot and could make it hard for the Chargers\u2019 defense to have the standard it had in the previous season.<\/p>\n

New defensive coordinator Chris O\u2019Leary already has some big shoes to fill, replacing Jesse Minter, who had the Chargers\u2019 defense playing like one of the best in the league, but will now have to worry about the depth at the cornerback position.<\/p>\n

Tarheeb Still<\/a> and Cam Hart<\/a> are set to be the starting cornerbacks, with All-Pro Derwin James<\/a> lined up to be the nickelback for the team, but the backups at the spots should be a note of concern for the Bolts.<\/p>\n

The team has been a bit conservative with their cap space this free agency and has yet to bring in a cornerback.<\/p>\n

LA has five selections in the upcoming draft, including the 22nd overall, and could bolster the cornerback room. With the lack of options behind Still and Hart, the team has to focus on the cornerback group before the quality options become unavailable.<\/p>\n

Chris O\u2019Leary, who was previously the safeties coach before taking the defensive coordinator spot, will have to address the room before the start of the 2026 season and make his first season as the defensive playcaller go smoothly.<\/p>\n
