The Buffalo Bills have a handful of pressing team needs, which makes the latest ESPN mock so confusing. In the latest mock, they have Buffalo taking cornerback Avieon Terrell in the first round.<\/p>\n

The Buffalo Bills have plenty of team needs heading into the draft. One could argue that wide receiver could be an option, loading up quarterback Josh Allen with some weapons. General manager Brandon Beane didn\u2019t shy away from the idea, saying that trading for wide receiver DJ Moore<\/a> doesn\u2019t stop them from drafting a receiver high.<\/p>\n

Then there\u2019s a middle linebacker, who Buffalo doesn\u2019t have currently, which could be another position of need. Getting another premier EDGE player<\/a> would be another option for Buffalo. However, ESPN has Buffalo taking a cornerback in the latest mock.<\/p>\n

The latest mock from ESPN<\/a> has Buffalo taking Clemson cornerback Avieon Terrell. They say that despite some predraft hamstring issues, Terrell has high-end ability as an inside or outside cornerback and plays with toughness and a ferociousness the Bills would love.<\/p>\n

Buffalo already has two valuable cornerbacks in Maxwell Hairston and Christian Benford, and the team just brought in former Atlanta Falcons cornerback Dee Alford<\/a> for some key depth at the position, so why would Buffalo draft a cornerback? Have they done any of their homework on what Buffalo might need for the upcoming draft?<\/p>\n

What makes the selection even worse is that Texas A&M wide receiver KC Concepcion was still on the board when Buffalo selected. It seems as though in this make-believe scenario, Buffalo would rather prioritize a position that\u2019s already secure as opposed to taking one of the best receivers in the draft class. It\u2019s the kind of pick that might look fine on paper, but completely ignores the reality of Buffalo\u2019s roster, and that\u2019s where the mock draft loses the plot.<\/p>\n

If the board actually falls this way, the Bills don\u2019t overthink it. They either trade down or take the weapon, they take the impact player, and they give Allen and the offense exactly what they still need.<\/p>\n
