That success hasn’t come without more than its fair share of drama.

Over the last few seasons, plenty of rumors and rumblings have emerged from the Eagles. From Jalen Hurts having an uncertain future, to players within the locker room disliking each other, to head coach Nick Sirianni being on the hot seat, the discussion never stops.

Speaking of Sirianni, the Philadelphia head coach has led the franchise to a lot of success since taking over the job back in the 2021. He has led the Eagles to a 59-26 record and two Super Bowl appearances, with one of those appearances resulting in a championship.

In each of his five seasons, Philadelphia has made the playoffs.

No team can ask for much more from its head coach. Sirianni has done an excellent job and has helped turn the Eagles into a team that starts every season as a Super Bowl threat.

Philadelphia Eagles Owner Gets Honest About Nick Sirianni

Despite all of the success he has had in Philadelphia, Sirianni’s name is consistently brought up as a hot seat candidate. That is a storyline Eagles owner Jeff Lurie recently spoke out with strong words about.

While speaking to The Athletic, Lurie threw his full support behind Sirianni.

“His performance has been nothing short of outstanding, one of the best — first, what, five years in the history of the NFL? Two Super Bowls in three years, one of which we won, one of which was taken away from us,” Lurie said.

“Incredible leadership. But authenticity is huge in my world and in the players’ world. Nobody’s perfect. I’m far from it. You guys are far from it. It’s about authenticity, leadership, understanding when you should delegate, when you shouldn’t delegate, how to lead a team through the ups and downs. We’re the only team to repeat as division champions. No one else was even able to do it.”

No Aggressive Changes Are Needed, Except for Possibly One

At the end of the day, where nothing is broken nothing needs to be fixed. That is exactly the situation that the Eagles currently find themselves in.

Only one potential big move could be made. That move would see star wide receiver A.J. Brown shipped out of town.

Brown has showcased a lot of frustration with his role in Philadelphia over the years. He is one of the most talented wide receivers in football, but the Eagles could look to make a change. Outside of that potential decision, the team doesn’t need to do anything drastic.

Heading into the 2026 NFL season, Sirianni and Philadelphia will be a legitimate NFC contender. Sirianni is an elite head coach and his job status with the Eagles shouldn’t even be a question mark.

Evan Massey Evan Massey is a sports reporter and analyst located in Indianapolis, Indiana who covers the NFL, NBA, MLB, WNBA, and college sports.
