Dan Campbell expressed at the NFL league meetings that Detroit needed to get younger<\/a> in some areas. So, let’s take a look at the Lions<\/a>‘ offseason to see how they did as far as improving their age and medical concern levels.<\/p>\n

Here is the excerpt from my Lions Offseason Medical Review as of March 30, 2026:<\/a><\/p>\n

These medical concern levels are subjective and based on public information. Levels range from 0 (no concern) to 10 (major concern).<\/p>\n

The player list includes free agents, ERFA (Saylors, Niese, Whiteside, Bates), and futures deals from other teams (Gordon, McLaughlin).<\/p>\n

Quick takeaways of Detroit Lions<\/a>‘ additions vs. subtractions<\/p>\n

The additions were 2.5 years younger on average than the subtractions.<\/p>\n

The additions had a lower medical concern level 3.0 vs. 4.3.<\/p>\n

Overall, the Lions appear to have accomplished the goal of getting younger and healthier.<\/p>\n
