Los Angeles has a total of five selections in this year’s draft, including two during the first round. The Chargers are utilizing their top-30 visits until we get there.

A top-30 visit is a formal meeting between a draft prospect and an NFL team at its facilities. There are no workouts, but players meet with coaches and executives to get a feel if they are a good fit for each other, while also undergoing medical evaluations.

Los Angeles Chargers Hosting Oklahoma RB Jadyn Ott on Top-30 Visit

According to a report from NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, Ott is visiting with the Chargers on Thursday.

Former Oklahoma and Cal RB Jaydn Ott is visiting with the Chargers today and also will visit with the Bengals coming up.

Ott was solid at the Senior Bowl and had a 4.47-second 40 with 40.5-inch vertical at pro day, 10.11 broad jump.

As Fowler alluded to, Ott is rising up NFL team’s draft boards following a good performance in the Senior Bowl and during Oklahoma’s pro day. At 5-foot-11 and 198 pounds, Ott possesses a nice blend of speed and balance. He is also a capable receiver, recording 98 receptions for 749 yards and six touchdowns during his four-year collegiate career.

Most of Ott’s production came during his time with California, where he played for three years before transferring to Oklahoma. He was unable to fit in with the Sooners, recording just 23 total touches during the 2025 the season. Some have attributed his issues getting on the field to character concerns.

Ott’s best season came in 2023 when he posted 1,315 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns, earning First-Team All-Pac-12 honors. Since he hasn’t seen the field much sense, Ott is projected to be either a late-round pick or go undrafted. The Chargers are currently sitting pretty at the running back position with Omarion Hampton, Keaton Mitchell, and Kimani Vidal, but could use a developmental player with Mitchell and Vidal on short-term contracts.

Chargers’ Top Remaining Needs Heading Into the Draft

Stacy Revere/GettyChargers GM Joe Hortiz

Although they’ve signed guys such as center Tyler Biadasz and guard Cole Strange during free agency, the Chargers still need an upgrade at left guard. Los Angeles could get a very good one with its first-round pick at No. 22 overall considering not many guards get selected high. That would complete the offensive line and transform it from one of the worst in the NFL to one of the best.

Another big concern for the Chargers is at pass rusher. They have a great player to start with in Tuli Tuipulotu, but he needs help after losing Odafe Oweh in free agency. Los Angeles not only needs help on the edge, but also in the middle of the defensive line. The No. 22 pick could be in play for either position.

The Chargers could also use a bit more firepower on offense, whether it’s at wide receiver or tight end. The departure of Keenan Allen has left behind a lot of production to be made up for. Although Oronde Gadsden was a pleasant surprise as a rookie in 2025, pairing him with another strong tight end would round Los Angeles’ offense out nicely.

Nick Roesch Nick Roesch covers the NFL for Heavy Sports, with a focus on the Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers, and Los Angeles Chargers.
