With that said, the Jaguars and general manager James Gladstone are more than capable of making a big splash come late-April.

         Mark J. Rebilas-Imagn Images

While most focus externally has been on the Jaguars’ options of moving up in the draft, what about a trade-down scenario? Here are three teams picking below the Jaguars in the second-round who make sense as trade fits.

This is an easy one to connect dots with. While we have not yet seen the Los Angeles Rams and Jaguars make any deals together since the Jaguars’ new regime came in, the Rams’ fingerprints are all over the Jaguars’ process and there are strong bonds between Les Snead-James Gladstone and Sean McVay-Liam Coen.

The Rams have never been shy about being aggressive to make draft day moves, either. The Rams currently own the No. 61 pick, but with no fourth or fifth-round selections, they could get ansty about finding their target. This could be a chance to pick up some 2027 draft ammo while moving down only five spots.

Houston Texans

Yes, yes. It is the Houston Texans. With that said, we have already seen Gladstone and the Jaguars’ front office strike a deal with Houston before (Christian Kirk) and they struck a deal on Day 3 last year when the Jaguars landed Wyatt Milum, so there is clearly some precedent here. If it is a good deal, then the Jaguars should not care who is on the other end.

With the Texans sitting at No. 59, this would not be a far drop for the Jaguars. They would likely get the same level of player there that they would at No. 56, while getting a Day 3 pick of 2027 draft capital in return.

New England Patriots

Perhaps the best option for the Jaguars and a trade down would be the New England Patriots, who are slotted at No. 63. It is a bit of a drop from No. 56, sure, but the Patriots have the most draft ammo of any team sitting behind the Jaguars, including the Rams and the Texans.

As of today, the Patriots have 11 draft picks — including two in the fourth- and four in the sixth-round. The Jaguars could get a big boost in terms of 2026 draft capital by striking a deal here, which should be their focus in any deal they strike. The potential here for a winning deal is significant.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The NFL Draft is just three weeks away, and there are big things coming for…

[2060
7,212,125,2401,213,6
0":"post-849950","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-jacksonville-jaguars","8":"tag-football","9":"tag-jacksonville","10":"tag-jacksonville-jaguars","11":"tag-jacksonvillejaguars","12":"tag-jaguars","13":"tag-nfl
["GET
