At least, that seems to be the case with Breece Hall.

According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, the Jets trading Hall, which is seemingly on the table due to his $14.293 million franchise tag, would be a surprise. Jets fans can breathe easy knowing Hall, for now, isn’t going anywhere.

Jets’ trading Breece Hall would be a surprise

“I’d be surprised,” Breer writes on a Hall trade. “I just don’t think you can get the sort of value for a running back on a franchise tag that would make it worth everyone’s while to lose another of your best players.”

If a franchise were to come forward and offer something impossible to refuse, like something as ridiculous as a first-round pick, then the Jets might be willing to deal Hall.

However, barring such a lofty return, even if it were a second-rounder, the Jets are not expected to be trading Hall this offseason.

Hall is going to play on his $14,293,000 contract in 2026 if he’s not extended this offseason. It’s a lot for a running back, and it will only get more expensive if the Jets try to franchise tag him again next offseason.

More: Jets get bad news as Jaguars don’t look poised to trade Brian Thomas Jr. despite trade rumors

If he’s not in their long-term plans, trading him for any value at a third-round pick or better makes sense.

But finding a running back as good as Hall, who finally eclipsed 1,000 rushing yards last year with 1,065 yards on 243 attempts with four touchdowns, is going to be hard.

Keeping Hall and extending him to a long-term deal might be the best option for the Jets. Darren Mougey and Aaron Glenn need offensive weapons for their new quarterback(s), and Hall is just that.

They could get something decent back, but not enough to justify parting with the 24-year-old running back. Hall isn’t going anywhere, at least for now, so Jets fans can rest easy knowing Hall will be a Jet for at least the beginning of 2026.

More Jets news:

[2051
7,226,1917,255,2321,2097,6
0":"post-849963","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-new-york-jets","8":"tag-football","9":"tag-jets","10":"tag-new-york","11":"tag-new-york-jets","12":"tag-newyork","13":"tag-newyorkjets","14":"tag-nfl
["GET
