The Chicago Bears<\/a> and San Francisco 49ers<\/a> have been linked to a free agent edge rusher who is looking for a new home after spending the last 15 seasons with the New Orleans Saints<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Bleacher Report’s\u00a0Gary Davenport<\/a> believes the Bears and 49ers should look into signing Saints free agent pass rusher Cameron Jordan, who is one of the top players left on the market.<\/p>\n

“There are a handful of teams who could really use an edge-rusher, including potential contenders like the Chicago Bears and San Francisco 49ers. Jordan may not be the full-time, every-down force he once was, but he can still inject pop into a pass rush,” Davenport said.<\/p>\n

Jordan has clearly lost a step, but the 36-year-old is still a reliable and productive player who had 10.5 sacks this past season. The California product has also appeared in all 17 games for three straight seasons.<\/p>\n

Chicago could use an experienced edge rusher like Jordan to pair with Montez Sweat on the defensive line. Jordan would also be a fantastic veteran leader for the young and up-and-coming Bears, led by Ben Johnson.<\/p>\n

San Francisco needs to find another capable pass rusher to complement Nick Bosa, who is coming off a torn ACL<\/a>. Jordan would be an impactful, but cheap addition to the 49ers’ defense and take some pressure off Bosa as he works his way back.<\/p>\n

Jordan should land on a new team sooner rather than later, and the Bears and 49ers make a ton of sense as possible landing spots as he finishes out his NFL career.<\/p>\n
