While much of the spotlight has stayed on George Pickens and his situation, attention is quietly shifting elsewhere within the receiver room. A new report suggests that another familiar name could be on the move. As the roster begins to take shape ahead of the draft, questions are being asked about how certain pieces truly fit, and whether Dallas might consider reshuffling to balance opportunity and value.<\/p>\n<p>KaVontae Turpin trade talk reflects crowded Cowboys offense<\/p>\n<p>Reid Hanson has put KaVontae Turpin in the conversation as a potential trade candidate, pointing to a season that never quite settled into rhythm. \u201cThe Cowboys tried to expand Turpin\u2019s role in 2025 and in some ways it worked and in other ways it failed,\u201d Hanson wrote. That uneven stretch showed up in flashes. Turpin reached career highs on offense, yet the consistency was not always there.\u201cTurpin posted career numbers on offense, but miscues and drops were littered throughout. His return ability also suffered with Turpin collecting uncharacteristic penalties and a perceived loss of confidence along the way.\u201d It is a blunt assessment, and one that reflects the fine margins for a player whose value is tied as much to reliability as it is to speed.There is still a strong case for his appeal. Turpin\u2019s contract, a $13.5 million, three-year deal running through 2027, is team-friendly, and his special teams r\u00e9sum\u00e9 carries weight. A three-time Pro Bowler, he remains one of the league\u2019s more dangerous return threats when in form. Around the league, that kind of explosiveness rarely goes unnoticed.At the same time, Dallas has new layers to consider. CeeDee Lamb continues to command a heavy share of targets, while Pickens\u2019 presence adds another high-usage option. The rise of Ryan Flournoy only tightens the rotation further. Touches are limited, and the Cowboys may soon have to decide whether keeping depth outweighs the chance to add draft capital.\u201cEven coming off a down year, Turpin is highly valued around the NFL,\u201d Hanson added. \u201cHis game-breaking speed is unmistakable and with a contract that runs through 2027, he should garner a pretty decent return from a team looking for juice.\u201cThe Cowboys may not want to lose him in their return game but offensively they can take the hit. CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens and Ryan Flournoy demand opportunities and there already aren\u2019t enough balls to go around. A fourth-round pick might get this deal done.\u201dThat balance between immediate impact and future flexibility sits at the heart of this decision.
