Though the jury is still out on whether, at this stage in his career, he is the best option moving forward under this new era with Mike McCarthy<\/a>, there is no denying the impact he made. Rodgers helped lift Mike Tomlin<\/a>‘s roster to a 10-7 record and an AFC North crown. However, the result in the playoffs was brutal and led to Tomlin electing to step away<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Rodgers has many thinking he is going to play for the Steelers in 2026, but his decision remains a mystery. Steelers GM Omar Khan<\/a> revealed he did not expect the decision to take as long as it did during the 2025 offseason. However, as the situation has dragged on, many believe a final call will come before the 2026 NFL Draft<\/a> kicks off on April 23.<\/p>\n

Steelers insider Gerry Dulac joined Brian Batko on the Chipped Ham & Football show<\/a> on Thursday to provide some critical insight regarding Rodgers. Dulac shed light on what the organization believes, offering a clearer picture of where things stand as the franchise continues to wait on the future Hall of Fame quarterback\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n

“I think when he says that, it is based on prior conversations that they have had with him,” Dulac said. “I am not going to sit here and say it is an understanding in terms of it being two ways, but he has told them that it is not going to drag on. Obviously, they have had some sort of communication that, yes, he will make a decision by the start of the draft. That is what they would like and have wanted all along.”<\/p>\n

The good news for Steelers fans came from what Dulac had to say next. A lot relating to Rodgers is a mystery, and football fans only get to know more about him when he chooses to speak publicly or appears on The Pat McAfee Show, which has often been his go-to platform for addressing speculation.<\/p>\n

Well, Dulac provided some insider information on what Khan and McCarthy do know about Rodgers\u2019 pending decision to return to the Steelers in 2026 or not, offering a rare glimpse into the organization\u2019s level of confidence as the situation continues to unfold.<\/p>\n

“The one thing they know, though, Brian, is that this isn\u2019t a case where Aaron Rodgers is seeking another team or money,” Dulac said. “It\u2019s not about the contract, it\u2019s not about more money, and it\u2019s not like he is going to go somewhere else. It\u2019s either the Steelers or he is retiring. That is their understanding, and that has been the understanding all along.”<\/p>\n

Well, there you have it, Steeler Nation. That should put to bed the rumors about any other team being a potential suitor for Rodgers.<\/p>\n

Steelers Want An Answer From Aaron Rodgers<\/p>\n

At this point, it appears to be a two-way street with a clear outcome. Either Rodgers returns to Pittsburgh for another run, or he walks away from the game entirely. That kind of clarity, even without a final decision, gives fans something to hold onto.<\/p>\n
