{"id":850966,"date":"2026-04-03T07:19:05","date_gmt":"2026-04-03T07:19:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/850966\/"},"modified":"2026-04-03T07:19:05","modified_gmt":"2026-04-03T07:19:05","slug":"bills-named-top-landing-spot-for-chiefs-super-bowl-winning-free-agent-receiver","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/850966\/","title":{"rendered":"Bills named top landing spot for Chiefs&#8217; Super Bowl-winning free agent receiver"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There are various experienced free agent wide receivers that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportingnews.com\/us\/nfl\/buffalo-bills\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Buffalo Bills<\/a> could sign to assist Josh Allen during a pivotal 2026-27 season.<\/p>\n<p>In Bleacher Report\u2019s Gary Davenport&#8217;s opinion, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportingnews.com\/us\/nfl\/kansas-city-chiefs\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kansas City Chiefs<\/a>\u2019 Super-Bowl-winning free agent receiver <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/bleacherreport.com\/articles\/25411914-1-free-agent-still-market-who-can-help-each-nfl-team-2026\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">should be at the top<\/a> of the Bills\u2019 list of potential targets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGiven that the team entered the offseason in something of a precarious position relative to the salary cap, the Bills actually did a pretty good job of addressing needs in free agency,\u201d Davenport wrote Monday,\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe trade for D.J. Moore gives Josh Allen a badly-needed upgrade at wide receiver, and Buffalo bolstered the pass rush with the signing of edge-rusher Bradley Chubb.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith just $12.3 million in cap space per Over the Cap and a rookie class still to sign, any further free agency moves will likely be lower-end additions\u2014like signing another wide receiver to flesh out a room that still needs depth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJuju Smith-Schuster&#8217;s days of catching 100 passes and topping 1,400 receiving yards are long past him. But it wasn&#8217;t that long ago (2022) that Smith-Schuster caught 78 passes for 933 yards and three scores with the Kansas City Chiefs, and the 10th-year veteran won&#8217;t turn 30 until November.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Smith-Schuster was used sparingly in the Chiefs\u2019 offseason last year, as he only recorded 33 receptions for 345 receiving yards and one touchdown on a Kansas City squad that shockingly missed the postseason.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Still, in the right situation, the former second-round pick could be a serviceable third or fourth receiving option with Buffalo as they attempt to build on their encouraging 2025-26 campaign.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The strong-handed and agile 29-year-old wideout has plenty of juice left in the tank, which could prompt the Bills to sign him while he\u2019s still on the market.
