It has been a roller coaster year-plus for Cleveland Browns superstar edge rusher Myles Garrett.<\/p>\n

Garrett went from requesting a trade last year<\/a>, to getting a huge extension to keep him in Cleveland, to now being the center of trade speculation once again this offseason.<\/p>\n

Garrett is the subject of trade buzz once again after the Browns recently modified his contract<\/a>, which not only gave the team flexibility with the cap, but made it easier to trade him<\/a>, also.<\/p>\n

That likely at least caught the attention of potential suitors, and we would suggest the Chicago Bears as one of those teams because of their existing need along the edge<\/a>.<\/p>\n

New Myles Garrett trade buzz\"Cleveland<\/p>\n

Browns general manager Andrew Berry said the Browns do not have any interest in trading Garrett<\/a>, and NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo<\/a> reported the same.<\/p>\n

Despite that, one NFL executive who spoke to The Athletic’s Mike Sando<\/a> still believes the contract adjustment is a sign the Browns are planning to trade the seven-time Pro Bowler.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe report of the option bonus date moving later for Myles Garrett makes me think Cleveland is planning on trading him,\u201d Sando was told by the unnamed NFL executive.<\/p>\n

It is definitely not crazy to think that way. After all, Garrett has wanted out before and if the Browns don’t improve fast, the superstar edge rusher could ask for a trade once again.<\/p>\n

It’s not illogical for the Browns to make that kind of move, either, as Cleveland is in the midst of a rebuild and would acquire at least two first-round picks for a 30-year-old who could be on the decline by the time the Browns are competitive again.<\/p>\n

A dream trade scenario for the Bears\"Chicago<\/p>\n

Acquiring the best edge rusher in the NFL would address one of the Bears’ biggest needs<\/a> in a massive way and Chicago would improve its chances of winning a Super Bowl with that move.<\/p>\n

Because the Bears are in win-now mode with a solid roster, they could afford to drop the two first-round picks (one in 2026, another in 2027) needed, plus any other pick necessary.<\/p>\n

The potential roadblock is the finances because the Bears are just barely under the cap<\/a> right now. <\/p>\n

However, we do know Chicago was in on a Maxx Crosby trade<\/a> with the Las Vegas Raiders after general manager Ryan Poles admitted as much, so clearly there’s a way to make a big trade work.<\/p>\n

To be quite frank, we’d be surprised to see Garrett moved before the 2026 NFL draft, or during this offseason entirely. It just feels like neither side is there yet.<\/p>\n
