{"id":851538,"date":"2026-04-03T16:30:18","date_gmt":"2026-04-03T16:30:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/851538\/"},"modified":"2026-04-03T16:30:18","modified_gmt":"2026-04-03T16:30:18","slug":"bengals-fans-will-like-this-zac-taylor-insight-from-an-nfl-executive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/851538\/","title":{"rendered":"Bengals fans will like this Zac Taylor insight from an NFL executive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This offseason, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportingnews.com\/us\/nfl\/cincinnati-bengals\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cincinnati Bengals<\/a> made a few big moves in free agency to bolster the defensive side of the ball.<\/p>\n<p>Boye Mafe, Bryan Cook, and Jonathan Allen were all added to help improve the defense from 2025, which was among the worst in the NFL.<\/p>\n<p>Following those moves, one NFL executive, according to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/7165189\/2026\/04\/02\/nfl-free-agency-2026-afc-execs-best-worst\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Mike Sando of The Athletic<\/a>, believes that those signings point to 2026 being potentially Zac Taylor&#8217;s final straw, which Bengals fans who have been calling for Taylor to be fired will surely love to hear.<\/p>\n<p>2026 might be Zac Taylor&#8217;s final chance<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They knew they had to fix some stuff on defense,&#8221; one NFL executive said. &#8220;It looks like they are saying, &#8216;You guys have one year to figure this out. Otherwise, we can get out of the coach&#8217;s contract.'&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>While the Bengals might&#8217;ve made a few big moves this offseason to fix the defensive side of the ball, this might be the Bengals&#8217; long-time head coach&#8217;s last chance.<\/p>\n<p>A bad 2026, and Taylor might be out of a job.
