It\u2019s the NFL<\/a> offseason, so it\u2019s the perfect time for fun hypotheticals. Especially situations that are dream NFL Draft scenarios. With the Philadelphia Eagles<\/a>, there\u2019s one ideal situation that pundits have been discussing around tight end Dallas Goedert<\/a> for months.<\/p>\n Bleacher Report\u2019s Alex Ballentine referenced<\/a> it again Friday \u2014 draft Oregon tight end Kenyon Sadiq to be Goedert\u2019s eventual successor.<\/p>\n Ballentine called it Philadelphia\u2019s \u201cdream scenario\u201d for the first round in the 2026 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n \u201cRe-signing Dallas Goedert turns out to be a one-year bridge because Kenyon Sadiq is coming to Philadelphia,\u201d wrote Ballentine<\/a>.<\/p>\n Both ESPN\u2019s Mel Kiper Jr. and NFL Network\u2019s Daniel Jeremiah<\/a> each have Sadiq rated as the top tight end in the 2026 draft class.<\/p>\n NFL.com\u2019s Lance Zierlein labeled the Oregon tight end as a prospect who \u201cwill become good starter within two years.\u201d<\/p>\n With Goedert returning to the Eagles on a 1-year contract, Sadiq is an ideal succession plan to the veteran tight end in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n \u201cA versatile tight end with a shredded physique and alluring potential as a volume target, Sadiq\u2019s route tree will be full of branches,\u201d wrote Zierlein<\/a>. \u201cHis athleticism and break quickness should allow him to uncover against man coverage on all three levels.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s talented after the catch, with the ability to make things easier for play-callers and quarterbacks looking to move the sticks. He has the body control and hand strength to win contested catches but will occasionally allow balls to hit the ground on lower-difficulty plays. He\u2019s adequate as a blocker, giving good effort in-line and locating and landing on linebackers as a move blocker.<\/p>\n \u201cTeams looking to diversify their passing game options with a talented pass-catching tight end could make Sadiq a priority.\u201d<\/p>\n Why Oregon TE Kenyon Sadiq Could Fit With the Eagles GettyBleacher Report\u2019s Alex Ballentine called the Philadelphia Eagles landing Oregon tight end Kenyon Sadiq the team\u2019s dream 2026 NFL Draft first-round scenario.<\/p>\n Pundits began linking Sadiq to the Eagles<\/a> early in the football season last year. At the time, it appeared unlikely that Goedert would return to Philadelphia for 2026.<\/p>\n But Goedert had a terrific 2025 campaign, essentially making it crucial the Eagles bring him back. He had a career-high<\/a> 60 catches and 11 touchdowns, which led the team.<\/p>\n After delaying their free agency decision<\/a> with Goedert in March, the Eagles eventually agreed to bring him back on a 1-year, $7 million deal<\/a>. Goedert, though, will count as about a $10.23 million cap hit in 2026 and has four void years in his deal.<\/p>\n That\u2019s to help spread out his cost against the Eagles salary cap. To further help that situation, the team could find an affordable tight end on a rookie deal.<\/p>\n In 2026, there isn\u2019t any better choice than Sadiq.<\/p>\n \u201cSadiq is loaded with physical traits.\u201d Kiper wrote<\/a>.\u00a0\u201cHe flew in the 40-yard dash at the combine; his 4.39 easily led the tight ends. And he\u2019s nearly impossible to match against because of his quickness and size.<\/p>\n \u201cSadiq was consistent last season, and he should be the first tight end off the board.\u201d<\/p>\n Both Kiper and Jeremiah rated Sadiq a top 15 prospect for the 2026 class. That makes it unlikely he lasts until Philadelphia\u2019s first-round selection at No. 23 overall.<\/p>\n But that\u2019s why the Eagles landing him could be considered \u201ca dream.\u201d<\/p>\n Sadiq posted<\/a> 51 catches, 560 receiving yards and eight touchdowns in 14 games last season.<\/p>\n Eagles TE Depth Entering 2026 NFL Draft GettyBleacher Report\u2019s Alex Ballentine argued the dream 2026 NFL Draft scenario for the Philadelphia Eagles is to land tight end Kenyon Sadiq to pair to veteran Dallas Goedert.<\/p>\n With Sadiq, the Eagles could not only have a succession plan to Goedert but also better tight end depth for 2026.<\/p>\n Granted, the Eagles have been very busy adding tight end depth this offseason.\u00a0In addition to Goedert<\/a>, Philadelphia re-signed Grant Calcaterra<\/a> this offseason. During NFL free agency, the Eagles also added Johnny Mundt<\/a>.<\/p>\n As a pass-catcher Sadiq would likely immediately be a better option than Calcaterra and Mundt. But those veterans have experience.<\/p>\n Calcaterra had<\/a> 24 catches for 298 yards during Philadelphia\u2019s Super Bowl campaign two years ago.<\/p>\n Mundt has eclipsed<\/a> the 100-yard mark each of the past four seasons.<\/p>\n With Goedert, Calcaterra and Mundt, tight end isn\u2019t Philadelphia\u2019s biggest need.
