It\u2019s the first cover-athlete honor for either player, per the New York-based Topps.<\/p>\n
Ward is positioned looking downfield, holding the football in his throwing hand.<\/p>\n
In the trading-card hobby, appearing on the box cover is comparable to being named the cover athlete for Madden video games. The 2025 Topps Chrome Football trading-card set is set to hit retail shops on April 15.<\/p>\n
Ward will also have one of the biggest chase cards \u2014 rare cards that are generally more valuable than others \u2014 in the product as his 1\/1 Rookie PREM1ERE patch autograph will be in the set, featuring the patch he wore during his first NFL game last September.<\/p>\n
Previously, Maye and Ward both appeared separately in Topps NOW Cards, a print-on-demand trading card program that commemorates significant sports and pop-culture moments within 24\u201348 hours of those events occurring.<\/p>\n
Both quarterbacks were featured following the moments they were drafted, with Ward\u2019s card amassing a print run of about 30,000 while Maye\u2019s card hit more than 6,000.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Ward, chosen by the Titans with the first overall pick of the 2025 draft, started all 17 games during his rookie season. He completed 323-of-540 passes (59.8 percent) for 3,169 yards, throwing for 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions while producing a quarterback rating of 80.2.<\/p>\n
Maye, chosen third overall by the Patriots in the 2024 draft, had a banner second season, finishing second to the Los Angeles Rams\u2019 Matthew Stafford in MVP voting and guiding the Patriots to a Super Bowl appearance.<\/p>\n
The former North Carolina standout completed 354-of-492 passes in 2025 (72 percent) for 4,394 yards, throwing for 31 touchdowns and eight interceptions while posting an NFL-best quarterback rating of 113.5.<\/p>\n
