Kansas City Chiefs receiver Rashee Rice will not face NFL discipline stemming from recent accusations against him in a civil lawsuit, the league confirmed Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was insufficient evidence to support a finding that he violated the personal conduct policy,\u201d NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said.<\/p>\n

ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter was first to report Rice\u2019s update<\/a> Friday afternoon, stating that the NFL investigation is now closed.<\/p>\n

In recent months, Rice was accused of assault by the mother of his children<\/a> in a Dallas County, Texas, civil lawsuit.\u00a0Dacoda Jones alleged that Rice caused \u201csevere and permanent injuries\u201d to her between December 2023 and July 2025. Through her attorney, Ron Estefan, Jones was seeking monetary damages \u201cover $1 million.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rice was not charged criminally in the matter. The lawsuit did not say whether Jones notified authorities about her allegations.<\/p>\n

Initially, when the lawsuit was filed in February, McCarthy said Rice\u2019s matter remained under review for possible discipline under the league\u2019s personal conduct policy.<\/p>\n

Chiefs coach Andy Reid, when asked Tuesday about Rice\u2019s status with the team, said he hadn\u2019t heard anything indicating Rice wouldn\u2019t be available during offseason workouts.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe sky\u2019s the limit for that kid,\u201d Reid said of Rice\u2019s on-field talent. \u201cHe\u2019s got to keep going \u2014 push through this and get through it and go. Keep his nose clean.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rice served a six-game suspension at the start of the 2025 season after he pleaded guilty in July to two third-degree felony charges dating to a 2024 multi-vehicle car crash in Dallas. Those charges included racing on a highway, causing bodily injury and a collision involving serious bodily injury. Rice was sentenced to five years of deferred probation and 30 days in jail and was required to pay more than $115,000 in restitution to the victims.<\/p>\n

Rice returned in Week 7 against the Las Vegas Raiders and played in eight games for the Chiefs last season. He\u2019s entering the last year of his rookie contract with the team.<\/p>\n
