It is being reported that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers<\/a> could shockingly leave Raymond James Stadium.<\/p>\n

They have been based at the 69,218-capacity venue since 1998.<\/p>\n

Buccaneers could temporarily move to Orlando<\/p>\n

A report from the Sports Business Journal<\/a> claims that the Buccaneers will \u201cmeet with the Tampa Sports Authority next week.\u201d<\/p>\n

This will be to discuss the planned renovations at Raymond James Stadium.<\/p>\n

These renovations are expected to cost around $1 billion<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Buccaneers must decide whether to extend their lease at Raymond James Stadium for another five years by the end of January 2027.<\/p>\n

Owners the Glazer family previously invested more than $160 million in renovations between 2016 and 2018.<\/p>\n

Now the Buccaneers appear set to make a temporary move 80 miles east to Orlando, Florida<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This move will facilitate Raymond James Stadium\u2019s major overhaul.<\/p>\n

Orlando\u2019s Camping World Stadium is thought to be the leading contender to host the team\u2019s home games.<\/p>\n

Jaguars are already set to play in Orlando<\/p>\n

The Buccaneers could become the second NFL team to base itself at the 90-year-old 60,219-capacity venue.<\/p>\n

Floridian rivals the Jacksonville Jaguars are also set to play at Camping World Stadium<\/a> during their own renovations at EverBank Stadium.<\/p>\n

This move has since been confirmed<\/a> with the Jaguars briefly relocating for the 2027 NFL season.<\/p>\n

Camping World Stadium is currently undergoing a $400 million makeover of its own ahead of the NFL\u2019s arrival at the venue.<\/p>\n

Stadium renovations in Tampa<\/p>\n

The planned renovations at Raymond James Stadium follow the urgent repairs at the nearby Tropicana Field.<\/p>\n

A $55 million repair job has taken place<\/a> at the Tampa Bay Rays<\/a>\u2018 Tropicana Field following damage caused by Hurricane Milton<\/a> in 2024.<\/p>\n

The Rays were then forced to play their 2025 MLB<\/a> home games at the New York Yankees<\/a>\u2018 spring training base at George M. Steinbrenner Field.<\/p>\n
