The organization tends to bring in those kinds of players. This offseason, they’re in the market for a wideout opposite of Zay Flowers, and it should come as no shock that they are once again being matched with veteran weapons.

Earlier in free agency, the Ravens were identified as a fit for Keenan Allen, who remains unsigned. Now, it’s Stefon Diggs. Diggs was released by the New England Patriots in early March and is still searching for his new team.

Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox was the latest to match up Diggs with the Ravens. Knox wrote:

“Quarterback Lamar Jackson would benefit from an improved receiving corps. Diggs would be a great addition alongside Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman. Baltimore tried using veteran DeAndre Hopkins in the third-receiver role last season, but he finished with just 330 yards and two touchdowns.”

“Diggs could be the dependable go-to target for Jackson that Hopkins never became.”

Knox isn’t the first to make this connection, and he won’t be the last. But this wouldn’t really be a smart idea.

Baltimore Ravens matched with Stefon Diggs in nightmare pairing

This pairing feels like a disaster waiting to happen. It’s not that Diggs isn’t still a good player. On paper, it looks good. In 2025, just one season removed from an ACL tear, he totaled 85 receptions for 1,013 yards. Even at 32 years old, after a major injury, he was still getting it done at a high efficiency. That’s the type of talent Lamar Jackson needs. But is it the player?

Diggs’ off-the-field concerns are a red flag. They’ve been prominent this past year, which has included felony charges and legal issues. While the decision to release him was largely due to the $16.9 million the Patriots saw in cap savings, the off-the-field disputes likely played a role, too.

The four-time Pro Bowler has also caused friction within multiple organizations. During very successful stints with the Minnesota Vikings and Buffalo Bills, he ended up requesting trades both times. The reason? Frustration regarding his involvement in the offenses. That’s definitely something that the Ravens can’t introduce to the roster. They shouldn’t risk locker room stability under first-year head coach Jesse Minter.

For the record, Diggs was a dynamic weapon up until the end of his tenure with both those teams, as well. He was still putting up impressive Pro Bowl-caliber numbers. The heights he was reaching before asking out of Minnesota and Buffalo were heights that he likely wouldn’t be able to reach in Baltimore, where they rely heavily on the rushing attack led by Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson.

Sure, it could be a nice return home for Diggs. He’s from Maryland and had an incredibly successful college career with the Terrapins. Outside of that, though, it doesn’t feel like a smart idea for either side to agree on a free agent deal. The Ravens need a younger, physical wideout to grow next to Flowers, and Diggs probably wants to go somewhere where he’d see more involvement.

Every time there’s an aging wide receiver on the market, the Baltimore Ravens will almost always be predicted…

[2052
184,117,2282,7,6,169
0":"post-852613","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-baltimore-ravens","8":"tag-baltimore","9":"tag-baltimore-ravens","10":"tag-baltimoreravens","11":"tag-football","12":"tag-nfl","13":"tag-ravens
["GET
