However, the team doesn’t have a first-round pick in the 2026 draft and is coming off of two-straight first-round playoff exits.

Looking around the roster, there’s not a ton of holes. The biggest one is clearly on the edge after the team traded away Rashan Gary and lost Kingsley Enagbare in free agency. Additionally, star pass-rusher Micah Parsons is coming off a serious injury and probably will not be ready for Week 1.

Unless the team wants to go into Week 1 with Lukas Van Ness and Barryn Sorrell as the starters on the edge, they need to make a move. Luckily, there are still some solid options on the free agent market, but one is more intriguing than the rest.

Garrett Podell of CBS Sports recently identified the best landing spots for each of the top remaining free agents. For future Hall of Famer Von Miller, Podell identified the Packers as a legit option.

Regarding Miller and the Packers, Podell offered the following:

Miller makes plenty of sense on the Packers, given Micah Parsons’ situation. Parsons is recovering from a torn ACL. Miller would be an ideal addition to hold down the fort at the edge rusher spot opposite former first-round pick Lukas Van Ness until Parsons gets back. Once he does, Miller could be a situational pass rusher for the Packers, a team whose +1500 odds to win the Super Bowl are the seventh-best in the NFL, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. Even though Green Bay is known as a team that can be free agent-averse, general manager Brian Gutekunst signed veteran defensive tackle Javon Hargrave to hold down the fort until Devonte Wyatt can return from his injury. Miller would be a similar signing.

As Podell mentioned, Miller probably shouldn’t be relied upon to start for an entire season, but he can still be a reliable rotational piece. Miller is more than capable of holding down the fort until Parsons returns at least.

In 2025, Miller played in all 17 games for the Washington Commanders and collected 26 tackles, six tackles for loss, and nine sacks. Pro Football Focus credited the veteran with 36 pressures, which ranked 53rd out of 115 qualified edge-rushers in 2025.

Miller has been a reliable edge-rusher for years now. The veteran has earned eight Pro Bowls, won two Super Bowls, and been a First-team All-Pro three times. Miller would likely be open to playing with a contender like the Packers in 2026 as he attempts to win his third ring.

Miller isn’t the player he once was, but worst-case scenario, he’d still be a solid rotational piece and a good addition to the locker room.

More NFL news:

The Green Bay Packers are in an interesting position this offseason. The team has a solid roster and…

[2072
7,41,345,2514,2513,6,428
0":"post-852860","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-green-bay-packers","8":"tag-football","9":"tag-green-bay","10":"tag-green-bay-packers","11":"tag-greenbay","12":"tag-greenbaypackers","13":"tag-nfl","14":"tag-packers
["GET
