Round 1: No. 23 overall: Keldric Faulk, Edge, Auburn. Round 2: No. 54 overall: Elijah Sarratt, WR, Indiana. Faulk feels like a classic Eagles pick, marrying need, value and traits the team seeks. He\u2019s young, long, twitchy and brimming with upside, which is exactly what Philly tends to look for in the draft in general, especially on the edge. Sarratt might not be the most dynamic receiver in this draft class, but he\u2019s well-built and highly reliable and would be a good stand-in if the Eagles opt to move A.J. Brown.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m one of the most pro-Nick Sirianni people you\u2019ll find across the Delaware Valley. The easy answer is that there\u2019s nothing he can do at this point, inexplicably, to receive the credit he deserves for the Eagles being in the postseason annually and winning a championship. If the Eagles win this upcoming season\u2019s Super Bowl, yes, Vic Fangio will receive his laurels for being one of the best defensive minds of the century while Sean Mannion will likely be out the door for a head coaching job elsewhere. The narrative will be about that duo thrived and how Sirianni got out of his own way. If the Eagles bail out early in the postseason like they did this past winter, however, the blame will be laid at Sirianni\u2019s feet. I remember that old adage that if you win in Philly, \u201cYou\u2019ll never pay for a drink in this town again.\u201d I\u2019ve seen two Eagles head coaches win Super Bowls within the last decade. Doug Pederson was maligned often. Sirianni is frequently persona non grata here. That saying was ultimately nonsensical. That\u2019s just not how it works here.<\/p>\n
Jeff Lurie is 74 years old, has owned the Eagles for 32 years and has been training his son Julian for a few years now to take over the franchise. If you\u2019re worried about him turning the franchise over to Julian anytime soon, it sure doesn\u2019t sound like it\u2019s about to happen. Which is terrific news for Eagles fans. Nothing against the Harvard-educated Julian Lurie, who\u2019s grown up around the franchise and is learning about every facet of team operations as his father prepares for the inevitable succession. But hearing Jeff Lurie speak on Sunday, he didn\u2019t sound like he\u2019s close to saying good-bye. The Eagles have enjoyed the greatest success in franchise history since Lurie bought the franchise from hapless Norman Braman in 1994, and the longer he remains in place running the show the better.<\/p>\n
The Eagles signed Jordan Davis, who had 4.5 of his eight career sacks in 2025, to the league\u2019s second-highest APY ($26 million) at his position, and fellow defensive tackle Jalen Carter is also eligible for an extension. A third exec predicted Philadelphia could wind up like New Orleans did in recent years after overleveraging the cap. \u201cYou find yourself having to extend players you do not necessarily want to extend to help leverage your books out so you can keep a competitive roster,\u201d this exec said. \u201cIf you don\u2019t continue to win, that thing blows itself up. \u2026 When you are paying those high-priced players, they have to come through.\u201d This exec was not the only one predicting darker days ahead. So much depends on drafting replacements so the Eagles can escape leveraged contracts over time. \u201cThey cannot even trade A.J. Brown until June 2 because of the (salary-cap impact),\u201d another exec said. \u201cThey have a lot of deals they have to pay the piper on.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Eagles Autism Foundation launched another matching gift for all 2026 Eagles Autism Challenge participants on Wednesday, April 1 in honor of Autism Acceptance Month. The $100,000 matching gift has been made possible thanks to the Bantwal family and Goldman Sachs Gives, a philanthropic fund focused on supporting underserved communities globally. The Bantwal family has been lifelong Eagles fans and passionate supporters of the Eagles Autism Foundation.<\/p>\n
Taken together, all of this adds up to Aubrey not really being the right guy to change the financial landscape of the kicker position. A multi-year deal that makes him the highest-paid guy, but still below $7 million a year, is equitable given the big picture. That Dallas would offer him that kind of deal, given what they\u2019d be sacrificing in terms of their own options over the next two seasons, is not a small thing. Aubrey\u2019s side has to take that into account when deciding what\u2019s fair here. Again, maybe the two sides aren\u2019t that far apart at this point. And with the RFA tender all but ensuring Aubrey\u2019s presence in 2026, there\u2019s no rush to get this done with months to go before training camp. But if things have stalled, then it really is Aubrey\u2019s camp that needs to get honest with themselves. As good as he\u2019s been so far, there\u2019s just too much risk and too little leverage for them to expect the Cowboys to budge.<\/p>\n
Oweh is not an effective edge defender against the run, which makes his ability to win in the pass game even more critical for both him and Washington. Oweh\u2019s main inconsistency lies in his ability to find the football and take on blocks outside of the tackles. He also struggles to consistently disengage blocks and make a play on the ball carrier as a playside run defender. In the film session, we\u2019ll highlight specific aspects of his game against the run where Oweh has room for improvement.<\/p>\n
Ohio State off-ball linebacker Sonny Styles is now the pick at No. 5 for the New York Giants in roughly half of the mock drafts in our weekly tracker. Styles was the selection in 32 of 65 mock drafts this week, 49.2%. Mock drafts have coalesced around four potential choices for New York. Styles, safety Caleb Downs (11 times, 16.9%), running back Jeremiyah Love (eight times, 12.3%), and wide receiver Carnell Tate (seven times, 10.8%).<\/p>\n
How about the number of first-round offensive tackles? Yates: Six, though a seventh is possible. The six I believe are the strongest first-round candidates: Francis Mauigoa (Miami), Spencer Fano (Utah), Monroe Freeling (Georgia), Kadyn Proctor (Alabama), Caleb Lomu (Utah) and Blake Miller (Clemson). But Arizona State\u2019s Max Iheanachor is right there as well. The intriguing part about this class is that stacking these tackles is so dependent upon scheme and which traits a team most values<\/p>\n
