The Atlanta Falcons have been in draft mode since they were eliminated from playoff contention in late November, and Kevin Stefanski and Ian Cunningham are looking to capitalize despite Atlanta having just five selections their arsenal in a few weeks. And they’re doing their homework nationwide.<\/p>\n
The Falcons have sent their new regime to multiple Pro Days<\/a> so far, but this one isn’t an hour down the road in Athens. Atlanta was one of the teams in attendance at Arizona State’s Pro Day<\/a>, and despite their 8-4 record, Tempe is home to some of the most intriguing prospects in the 2026 draft.<\/p>\n The obvious target here is cornerback Keith Abney II since he’ll most likely be available, but he may not be the only player the Dirty Birds consider at pick 48. Offensive tackle Max Iheanachor could be in play, and believe it or not, Jordyn Tyson could be too if the draft board shakes out in Atlanta’s favor<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Atlanta Falcons are taking a long look at three Arizona State prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft<\/p>\n The Falcons have yet to schedule top 30 visits with any of these three, but they’d be lucky to come away with any of them. It’s not like they sent Stefanski, Cunningham, and president of football to Arizona State to watch Jeff Sims. They clearly have their eye on one of these three guys with 48. <\/p>\n Abney makes the most sense given how thin Atlanta is in the cornerback room. Mike Hughes clearly isn’t a long-term fix opposite A.J. Terrell, and the Falcons’ lack of additions at cornerback<\/a> are concerning. There’s no world in which Darnay Holmes should be the only conerback Atlanta signs.<\/p>\n With his background in both track and speed skating, he’s the perfect fit for what Ulbrich looks for in a DB. Abney is physical in man coverage, so a young, exciting playmaker like him makes too much sense for an Atlanta defense looking to revamp its identity–especially after he showed out in 2025.<\/p>\n Iheanachor could be an intriguing option, but his draft stock has risen into the late-first or early-second round, so it would take a miracle for him to be there. Both Jake Matthews and Kaleb McGary are on the wrong side of 30<\/a>, so this massive person can be a swing tackle until taking over<\/a> for one of them full-time. And with his upside, he would be well worth the risk despite his lack of experience.<\/p>\n Some have crowned Tyson as the best wideout in this draft class, but ongoing medical concerns are threatening to plummet his draft stock. Not only is he the consensus top-five pick he once was, there’s a real chance he falls out of the first round entirely, but if healthy, would be the perfect complement to Drake London<\/a>.<\/p>\n
