The 2026 NFL Draft is fast approaching, and mock draft season is in full swing.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

Brianna Dix, a Buccaneers staff writer and reporter, just unveiled her latest mock draft,<\/a> and it\u2019s a dream scenario.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the first round of Dix\u2019s mock draft, the Buccaneers select Akheem Mesidor, an edge out of Miami who has been gaining steam recently as a potential Bucs fit.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Mesidor is a dominant pass rusher, recording 12.5 sacks and a 20.8% pass rush win rate in 2025. He recorded 35.5 sacks and five forced fumbles during his college career. Mesidor does come with some concerns \u2014 he\u2019s entering the NFL at age-25 after six seasons in college and also has some injury history.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But the Bucs need an NFL-ready pass rusher that can make an impact on day one, and if his medical check out, Mesidor is that guy.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the second round, Dix mocked Texas Tech linebacker Jacob Rodriguez to the Bucs. It\u2019s hard to find a better fit for Tampa Bay in this draft class than Rodriguez. He brings unheard of production with over 300 total tackles, 13 forced fumbles, six sacks, and six interceptions during his college career. He also brings proven leadership as a multi-time team captain along with a high football IQ. His knack for creating turnovers combined with his leadership and instincts make him a no-brainer replacement for Lavonte David,<\/a> who shined in those same areas.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Round Three, 77th Overall: DT Gracen Halton, Oklahoma<\/p>\n

Round Four, 116th Overall: C\/G Matt Gulbin, Michigan State<\/p>\n

Round Five, 155th Overall: CB Devon Marshall, North Carolina State<\/p>\n

Round Six, 195th Overall: WR De’Zhaun Stribling, Ole Miss<\/p>\n

Round Seven, 229th Overall: TE Dan Villari, Syracuse<\/p>\n

The mock draft puts on a master class, checking off every team need one by one with key upgrades at each necessary position.<\/p>\n

Selecting a pass rusher and inside linebacker in Rounds 1 and 2 before adding depth to the defensive line, interior offensive line, cornerback, wide receiver, and tight end later in the draft is a realistic glimpse at how the Bucs will likely attack the draft.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This would be an A+ draft haul for the Buccaneers if it were to come to fruition.
