Former first-round CB Terrion Arnold is named in a robbery and kidnapping investigation centering around his own stolen property. Back in March, his name surfaced in text messages relating to an ongoing case resulting in felony charges for six individuals. The Lions maintain Arnold’s innocence, however.

Arnold originally filed a police report surrounding property that had been stolen from him out of an Airbnb that he rented in Florida. According to Arnold, this included $100,000 in cash, as well as luxury bags, jewelry, and a cell phone. The felony charges issued in the case thus far stem from a plot to retrieve the stolen items.

In 24 games played in two seasons with the Lions, Arnold has 91 tackles, an interception, 18 passes defensed, and a fumble recovery. To date, he has not been charged with any crime in relation to this case.

The Detroit Lions Believe in Terrion Arnold’s Innocence

GettyCHICAGO, ILLINOIS – DECEMBER 22: Terrion Arnold #0 of the Detroit Lions breaks up a pass intended for DJ Moore #2 of the Chicago Bears during the fourth quarter at Soldier Field on December 22, 2024 in Chicago, Illinois. As far as I know it’s not a big deal. It seems like he still wasn’t involved with this.”

The case against Arnold stems from his being named in a series of text messages between the alleged co-conspirators. None of the texts were sent to Arnold himself.

Statement from Detroit Lions CB Terrion Arnold’s Lawyer

Arnold’s lawyer, Tim Jansen, had this to say about his client’s involvement in this case.

“We want to address recent reporting that has inaccurately characterized Terrion Arnold’s alleged connection to this matter,” Jensen said. “Claims that Mr. Arnold was ‘at the center’ of text message communications related to this incident are entirely misleading and reflect a gross negligence in accurately reporting the facts.”

“In reality, the collection of messages in question consists of more than 300 individual texts. Within that volume, Mr. Arnold’s name appears only a handful of times, approximately five, and only in passing references by third parties. At no point do these messages demonstrate that Mr. Arnold was directly involved in any conversations related to the alleged conduct.”

“There are no text messages showing Mr. Arnold communicating with any individuals about this matter, nor is there any evidence suggesting his participation or involvement in the underlying events,” Jensen continued. “Any implication otherwise is unsupported by the facts and unfairly misrepresents his position.”

“We urge the public and media to rely on accurate, verified information rather than speculation. Mr. Arnold maintains his position that he had no involvement in this situation, and the available evidence clearly supports that conclusion.”

Ethan Woodie is an accomplished sports writer specializing in the NFL and college football for Heavy.com.
