The Pittsburgh Steelers will almost certainly be searching for another receiver in this month\u2019s 2026 NFL Draft. One that they\u2019ve showed interest in \u2014 who developed under the tutelage of a Steelers icon \u2014 might fall into their laps in the first round.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne player trending in the wrong direction leading up to the draft is Arizona State receiver Jordyn Tyson,\u201d ESPN\u2019s Matt Miller wrote<\/a> Friday. \u201cIn reviewing my grades with a handful of scouts, many remarked that Tyson\u2019s hamstring injury and lack of predraft workouts could cause him to slide to the back half of the first round. Three scouts told me that Tyson ranks as the No. 4 receiver on their internal boards. He is scheduled to do positional work for NFL teams on April 17.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tyson<\/a> formally met with the Steelers at the NFL Scouting Combine. He was a first-team All-Big 12 honoree last season after pacing the Sun Devils with 61 receptions, 711 receiving yards and eight touchdown grabs.<\/p>\n

\u201cLearning from Super Bowl XL MVP Hines Ward helped unlock Tyson\u2019s production and elevated his draft stock,\u201d NFL draft analyst Lance Zierlein wrote<\/a> in a scouting report. \u201cHe\u2019s added size and improved his route running over the last two years, showing he can align at all three receiver spots. \u2026 Also, he has the ball skills and body control to win above the rim with timing on 50\/50 throws.<\/p>\n

\u201cScouts say he puts in the time to absorb knowledge and hone his craft. A history of injuries might explain inconsistent competitiveness as a run blocker in 2025. The wiring, versatility and finishing talent point to a WR1 ceiling.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tyson is the No. 3 wideout on the NFL Mock Draft Database\u2019s 2026 big board, slotted behind Ohio State\u2019s Carnell Tate and USC\u2019s Makai Lemon.<\/p>\n
