{"id":854058,"date":"2026-04-04T22:30:24","date_gmt":"2026-04-04T22:30:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/854058\/"},"modified":"2026-04-04T22:30:24","modified_gmt":"2026-04-04T22:30:24","slug":"nfl-free-agent-sounds-open-to-unexpected-chargers-reunion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/854058\/","title":{"rendered":"NFL Free Agent Sounds Open to Unexpected Chargers Reunion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"inline-text-0\" class=\"mt-[18px] md:mt-0 mb-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"6g\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/nfl\/chargers\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Los Angeles Chargers<\/a> won&#8217;t be able to hide from the pass-rushing need forever.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-1\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"6j\">Chargers general manager Joe Horitz and Co. got Khalil Mack back as one of their biggest moves for the second offseason in a row to help along Tuli Tuipulotu again.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-2\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"6m\">But one of the biggest losses was Odafe Oweh. They traded for him last year, got a breakout, then didn\u2019t want to play ball on the market when he signed a $96 million contract with Washington.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-3\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"6p\">So, the room looks a lot like last year\u2019s room for the Chargers, unless they\u2019re really content to gamble on a possible breakout from Kyle Kennard.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-4\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"6s\">Unless, of course, a random player from the past still on the NFL free agent market comes out of nowhere to suggest a reunion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>NFL free agent Kyle Van Noy floats Chargers reunion<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/01knd4cb3mbwz56v73fz.jpg\" alt=\"linebacker Kyle Van Noy\" title=\"linebacker Kyle Van Noy\" width=\"3600\" height=\"2025\" class=\"undefined w-full w-full blur-[5px]\" q:id=\"75\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Kyle Van Noy | Tommy Gilligan-Imagn Images<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-7\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"79\">Remember Kyle Van Noy?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-8\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"7c\">He spent one year with the Chargers and in 17 games, tallied five sacks and eight tackles for loss, to mention a few of the numbers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-9\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"7f\">Since, he spent three seasons in Baltimore with the Ravens, posting nine sacks in his debut season and 12.5 in 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-10\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"7i\">Van Noy might be 35 years old now, but he\u2019s one of those veterans to keep in mind on the open market at this stage of things.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-11\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"7l\">And, as it turns out, he recently responded to fans who suggested a reunion with the Chargers:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I mean they could.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Kyle Van Noy (@KVN_03) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KVN_03\/status\/2039826396286198213?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">April 2, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-13\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"7r\">The thing about a reunion with Van Noy is\u2026he can probably push and be more productive than someone like Bud Dupree as deep depth, at least.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-14\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"7u\">And when we\u2019re talking about veterans, it\u2019s important to keep in mind the more mentors, the better. They need Kennard to keep developing and could use one of their (very limited) five draft picks this year on another long-term pass-rusher.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-15\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"7x\">This is the market the Chargers have to work with now. One would think they aren\u2019t going to do a Joey Bosa reunion.
