The Kansas City Chiefs<\/a> are picking high in the 2026 NFL<\/a> draft at No. 9, which is a rarity for at team with as many Super Bowl victories in recent years as the Chiefs.<\/p>\n

Now, Kansas City is looking to round out its 2026-27 lineup at the NFL draft,\u00a0which is celebrating its 91st year<\/a>. The event is set for April 23 through 25 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n

According to a report that dropped on Saturday, April 4, from Pro Football Network<\/a>, wide receiver Makai Lemon has officially visited Chiefs. He also has four other pre-draft visits planned.<\/p>\n

The report indicates that, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Lemon visited with the Chiefs on Thursday, April 2. He’s also set to meet with the Jets, Giants, Commanders and Dolphins.<\/p>\n

Lemon notched 79 receptions for 1,156 yards and 11 touchdowns at USC during the 2025 season, according to ESPN research<\/a>. So, Lemon would be a great fit for quarterback Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City.<\/p>\n

According to Lemon’s official draft profile from the league<\/a>, he’s a “high-skill, high-volume slot receiver with average size but extraordinary ball skills. Lemon has room for refinement, but not much. He\u2019s intelligent, confident and polished with the ability to make plays on all three levels.”<\/p>\n

The profile adds that he’s a “tempo-driven route-runner who misdirects man coverage and separates out of turns but is fairly average after the catch. Quicker than fast, featuring early acceleration to open seam throws but flashes late burst when needed. “<\/p>\n

Looking at other options,\u00a0Jacob Camenker of USA Today offers up his draft day picks<\/a> in a feature out on Friday, April 3, and he has a strong projection for the Chiefs. He thinks the team will go with cornerback Mansoor Delane out of LSU.<\/p>\n
