It’s been a busy offseason for the Buffalo Bills<\/a>, who addressed their most glaring needs during free agency.<\/p>\n

Buffalo traded for DJ Moore<\/a>, giving Josh Allen a trusted veteran receiver. They also signed EDGE Bradley Chubb<\/a>, cornerback Dee Alford, and safeties C.J. Gardner-Johnson and Geno Stone.<\/p>\n

Not all of their moves have been praised, but general manager Brandon Beane ensured they went into the 2026 NFL draft feeling confident enough in their roster to draft based on talent rather than need. That’s a wise approach, but Bleacher Report’s Brad Gagnon says there’s still one big question they need to answer during the draft<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to Gagnon, it’s all about making Allen comfortable. That doesn’t necessarily mean taking an offensive player, however, as a strong defense could take some of the pressure off of Allen and the offense.<\/p>\n

“It’s all about supporting the franchise quarterback in their quest to finally get over the top. The question is, where should they focus at the top of the draft? Do they target an inside linebacker or DB to spruce up the defense? A guard to replace David Edwards? Another receiver for Allen to rely on? There are a lot of potential avenues here, both in the draft and in the lingering waves of free agency,” Gagnon wrote.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As is often the case, the Bills can enter the draft knowing what their primary goal is, but that doesn’t mean things will pan out that way. With Buffalo selecting 26th overall in the first round, there’s no guarantee which players\/positions will be available to them once they’re on the clock.<\/p>\n

That’s why Beane has to come up with several plans, all focused on the same thing, getting the Bills over the top.<\/p>\n

Of course, the Bills won’t take a quarterback in Round 1, but are there any other positions off the table? Right now, running back might be the only other spot they won’t consider. James Cook has his spot locked up, and while they can use depth, that would be a Day 3 consideration.<\/p>\n

Other than that, the Bills could use a younger EDGE to rotate behind Chubb and Greg Rousseau. They could also consider beefing up the offensive or defensive line, while linebacker and secondary help is also possible. Ideally, they will find another playmaker for Allen, but there’s no shortage of options on the table.<\/p>\n
