The mock draft idea we’ll be exploring today pertains to the Los Angeles Rams.

The Rams have shown they’re ready to compete by moving one of their first-round picks for Trent McDuffie this offseason. After solving one of the only needs on this roster, there aren’t many true holes on this Rams roster.

However, one topic of discussion was around the possibility of Ty Simpson joining the Rams. While that seemed somewhat likely when they had pick No. 29, it doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen at 13.

In this mock draft from Reuter, the Rams actually moved back to pick No 17, but that was to select Omar Cooper Jr. while the New York Jets went with Ty Simpson at 16.

The pick we’ll be analyzing comes in round five, when Reuter had the Rams going with Drew Allar at pick No. 157.

Key Facts:

• Team: Los Angeles Rams

• 2025 Record: 12-5

• 2026 NFL Draft Picks (Days 1 & 2): 13, 61 & 93

Does Drew Allar Fit With the Los Angeles Rams?

There’s arguably not a better fit for any quarterback in the 2026 NFL draft than the Rams. Most of the quarterbacks in this class could benefit quite a bit from getting to sit for a year and learning behind Matthew Stafford.

Stafford is coming off an elite year, but he’s now 38 years old, and each season could be his last. Right now, the Rams have Stetson Bennett as the backup quarterback, but I’m not sure he’s ever going to be much more than that.

It makes a ton of sense for the Rams to draft a quarterback, as this is a clear need on this roster. The question is, how early should the Rams pick one?

They want to add players that can help them win in 2026 and maximize their championship now. Sure, adding players to fill future holes is nice, but even if the Rams lose out on some long-term value to win a Super Bowl next year, that’s the right move.

Round one is a bit rich, but round five is absolutely realistic. With how few holes the Rams have on their team, they should at least start to think about landing a quarterback for the future in round three.

Should the Los Angeles Rams Draft Drew Allar?

Despite a down year from Allar, he has NFL starting traits. Back in 2025, there was even talk about Allar being the first overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft.

In a past TWSN article from Mike Hennelly on March 6th, he wrote that:

“Allar is a 6-foot-5, 230-plus-pound quarterback with the build of a pro-style quarterback. He has elite arm strength and impressive accuracy. Although Allar primarily operates in the pocket, he has the mobility to make plays with his legs if needed.”

The consistency for Allar simply wasn’t there in 2025, along with the fact that he broke his ankle. That said, Allar has a toolbox of traits that can’t be taught.

If the Los Angeles Rams are able to get Allar to sit behind Stafford and work with Sean McVay at this low a cost, it should be a no-brainer selection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Drew Allar Age?

Drew Allar is 22 years old.

Drew Allar Stats?

Allar threw for 1,100 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions in 2025.

Drew Allar College?

Allar played at Penn State from 2022 to 2025.

Los Angeles Rams Round 1 Pick?

The Los Angeles Rams have pick No. 13 in the 2026 NFL draft.

More NFL Draft Content From TWSN

2026 NFL Draft Rankings: Breaking Down The Top 5 Wide Receivers

The Jeremiyah Love NFL Draft Debate Has Been Settled… Again

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 3-Round 2026 NFL Mock Draft: Landing Edge, LB, & DL

Related

Subscribe to the TWSN Newsletter for original reporting, bold opinions, and real analysis across NFL, NBA, UFC, College Football, and more.

Straight to your inbox.
