Former Tennessee Vols quarterback Joey Aguilar is hoping to be selected in the 2026 NFL Draft. Aguilar spent one season at Tennessee, passing for 3,565 yards and 24 touchdowns while starting all 13 games.<\/p>\n

The 2026 NFL Draft is just a few weeks away and we still don\u2019t really have a good idea of where Tennessee Vols quarterback Joey Aguilar will be selected (or if he\u2019ll be selected at all). <\/p>\n

There are some analysts who believe Aguilar is among the top quarterbacks in the draft, including former Super Bowl MVP Phil Simms<\/a>, who has the former Vol as his No. 3 quarterback. <\/p>\n

\u201cNumber three, which catches a lot of people by surprise \u2014 I\u2019m just going to say, then go do a little research and tell me what a surprise it is \u2014 and that\u2019s Joey Aguilar, the quarterback for the Tennessee Volunteers,\u201d\u00a0said Simms<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cListen, when you watch him play, you go, wow,\u201d continued Simms. \u201cHe looks like a pro quarterback already. He\u2019s a big guy, 6-foot-3\u2026 He\u2019s athletic enough. The size that he is is a big deal, too. Because, man, he took some, well, there\u2019s no other way to say it \u2014 he took some ass whoopings down there. He\u2019s throwing the ball and, I mean, he\u2019s just getting blown up. But he has great technique throwing the football. He\u2019s another one who doesn\u2019t lose control\u2026 He uses his feet really well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Simms\u2019 son, former Texas Longhorns quarterback Chris Simms, is also high on Aguilar, ranking him as his No. 4 quarterback in the draft<\/a>. <\/p>\n

A recent mock draft from CBS Sports<\/a>, on the other hand, doesn\u2019t have Aguilar getting selected until the sixth round<\/a>. <\/p>\n

ESPN doesn\u2019t have Joey Aguilar among its top 12 quarterbacks in the 2026 NFL Draft<\/p>\n

ESPN is one of the national media outlets that isn\u2019t very high on Aguilar ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft. <\/p>\n

Draft analyst Jordan Reid ranked the top 12 quarterbacks<\/a> in the draft, and he didn\u2019t include Aguilar. <\/p>\n

Vanderbilt Commodores quarterback Diego Pavia, though, is ranked at No. 12 by Reid (he has Pavia listed as a potential day three selection). <\/p>\n

Whether or not Aguilar should be ranked higher is up for debate (I\u2019ll leave that to the analysts who are grinding through film). But it\u2019s clear that ESPN doesn\u2019t believe he\u2019ll be selected in the draft later this month. <\/p>\n
