The New England Patriots<\/a> have had the unenviable task of trying to find a way to build off their breakout 2025 campaign this offseason, which saw them make a surprise run to Super Bowl LX. The Pats didn\u2019t prevail in that game, though, so the goal for the team moving forward involves finding a way to bring a seventh Lombardi Trophy back to 1 Patriot Place.<\/p>\n While bringing new players to town<\/a> is crucial, there is a strong core group already in place that helped New England enjoy a successful season. One of those players is veteran linebacker Harold Landry III<\/a>, who labored through an injury-plagued campaign. Still, Landry put up some solid numbers for the Patriots, but based on his recent offseason activity, it doesn\u2019t sound like he\u2019s content with what he accomplished last year.<\/p>\n Patriots Receive Encouraging Harold Landry III News<\/p>\n Last offseason, Landry was part of the Patriots\u2019 spending spree, as the team signed him to a three-year, $43.5 million contract in free agency. Landry spent the first six seasons of his career with the Tennessee Titans<\/a>, meaning he had ties to the team\u2019s new head coach, Mike Vrabel. A star pass rusher, Landry earned a Pro Bowl selection in 2021 when he racked up a career-high 12 sacks for the Titans.<\/p>\n In his first year with the Patriots, Landry got off to a hot start before a lingering knee injury sapped him of his explosiveness. All in all, Landry finished with 49 tackles, 8.5 sacks, and one forced fumble over 15 games of action. However, given how the season finished, it\u2019s clear that he had some unfinished business moving forward.<\/p>\n With K\u2019Lavon Chaisson departing in free agency, a bigger spotlight has been placed on Landry heading into the 2026 campaign. While the team did sign Dre\u2019Mont Jones, Landry is going to have to reemerge as the leader of New England\u2019s pass rush. With a clean bill of health, though, Landry is hoping to be able to return to his dominant ways, which is something he appeared more than capable of doing early in 2025.<\/p>\n There\u2019s a decent chance that the Pats will add some help in the pass-rushing department during the upcoming 2026 NFL<\/a> Draft, so it will be interesting to see who ends up working alongside Landry next season.
