Although the Bills have been heavily mocked to taking defensive help in the first round, or even trading out.

However, Pro Football Network put out their latest mock draft and had the Bills taking Arizona State Sun Devils receiver Jordyn Tyson.

“We’ll put linebacker on hold for now for a talented receiver, who, if you’re reading the mock drafts and the consensus board, is unlikely to be available at this point,” the article read. “Tyson is available in this mock draft because the history of ailments is a legitimate concern that will likely generate opinion volatility. Nevertheless, the Buffalo Bills nab an uber-talented pass-catcher when he is at full strength.”

Tyson is a potential high-risk, high-reward move for the Bills as if he can stay healthy, he has the talent to be one of the best receivers in the draft. However, he does have some injury concerns, which make him such a risk.

Tyson recorded 61 receptions for 711 yards and 8 touchdowns. The year prior, he had 75 receptions for 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Tyson ‘Trending in Wrong Directon’ Ahead of Draft

Entering the college football season, Tyson was considered to be a first-round pick and could be the first receiver off the board in the 2026 NFL Draft.

However, Tyson’s season was plagued by injuries. Leading up to the draft, he’s reportedly trending in the wrong direction, according to ESPN’s Matt Miller.

“One player trending in the wrong direction leading up to the draft is Arizona State receiver Jordyn Tyson,” Miller wrote. “In reviewing my grades with a handful of scouts, many remarked that Tyson’s hamstring injury and lack of predraft workouts could cause him to slide to the back half of the first round. Three scouts told me that Tyson ranks as the No. 4 receiver on their internal boards. He is scheduled to do positional work for NFL teams on April 17.”

The injury concerns could very well drop him to the final few picks of the first round. Which is where the Bills could jump at the chance to select him.

NFL Execs Rip Bills Trade for Moore

Buffalo had to add more weapons for Josh Allen, and the team did that by trading for DJ Moore.

Yet, the Bills paid a hefty price in a second-round pick, which many NFL execs were surprised by.

“D.J. Moore was gonna get cut, and they gave up a second-round pick to get him,” one exec said to The Athletic. “They gave up a second-round pick and $40 million (in guarantees). What is going on?”

Another exec believes Moore is too similar to Khalil Shakir and doesn’t understand the need to acquire him.

“D.J. Moore has two years of regression now,” another exec said. “He is a non-traditional receiver that wins with size and yards after the catch. I still feel they needed someone that could win down the field. Moore can do that — he did it to beat Green Bay. But I feel like his strength is on the underneath catch-and-run stuff, which they already have with (Khalil) Shakir.”

Ultimately, the Bills took a swing and could take another in the draft.

Cole Shelton Cole Shelton covers the NHL, MLB and Cleveland Browns for Heavy.com.
