The San Francisco 49ers add a potential successor to Trent Williams<\/a> in a new collaborative first-round mock draft from A to Z Sports\u2014though the move comes after missing out on some top edge-rushing talent.<\/p>\n

In the projection, both Keldric Faulk and Cashius Howell are selected with the two picks immediately ahead of San Francisco. The analysis suggests that pass-rush help may have been the more pressing priority had the board fallen differently.<\/p>\n

Additionally, former Utah offensive tackle Caleb Lomu\u2014a popular mock draft target for San Francisco\u2014comes off the board at No. 24 overall.<\/p>\n

That leaves Wendell Ferreira projecting former Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor to the 49ers at No. 27 overall.<\/p>\n

“Trent Williams’ future is up in the air, and the 49ers signed Vederian Lowe<\/a> as a low-end alternative,” Wendell wrote. “With so many edge defenders off the board, including back-to-back ones in Faulk and Howell, Kadyn Proctor offers Kyle Shanahan a top prospect for the future at left tackle.”<\/p>\n

Proctor spent three seasons at Alabama and closed his collegiate career on a strong note. According to Pro Football Focus, he posted career-best marks in 2025, including an 86.1 overall grade, an 81.1 run-blocking grade, and an 84.2 pass-blocking grade.<\/p>\n

In 2025, Proctor earned consensus All-American honors, won the Jacobs Blocking Trophy as the SEC’s top blocker, and received first-team All-SEC recognition.<\/p>\n

At the NFL Scouting Combine, Proctor ran a 5.21-second 40-yard dash, leaped 32.5 inches in the vertical jump, turned in a 9-foot-1-inch broad jump, and had 25 reps in the bench press.<\/p>\n

“Proctor is a huge 6’7, 352-pound tackle with elite athleticism and ability to move bodies in the run game,” Wendell continued. “Last season at Alabama, he allowed only 19 pressures and amassed a 97.9% efficiency rate. Proctor has some technique issues to improve upon, which is natural for a 20-year-old prospect, but the frame and age make his ceiling extremely high.”<\/p>\n
