The Eagles went after veterans Arnold Ebiketie and Joe Tryon-Shoyinka on one-year deals, which is in line with what they did last offseason at pass rusher.

The Eagles hope that Ebiketie and Tryon-Shoyinka are better than the trio of Josh Uche, Azeez Ojulari, and Ogbo Okonkwo, but that’s not a huge bar to climb over.

Not long ago, we heard the Eagles were mentioned in the Jonathan Greenard trade buzz, but those rumors quickly disappeared. However, the fact that Philadelphia was even mentioned just highlights that they need more firepower off the edge, which they could address in the draft or in free agency.

If they want to add one more guy in free agency, one name worth bringing in for a visit or signing is former Dallas Cowboys defensive end Jadeveon Clowney. There are reportedly questions about how he would fit in Christian Parker’s scheme in Dallas, but we also know that he has the versatility to play in a 4-3 or 3-4 scheme.

Jadeveon Clowney Should Be on Eagles’ Free Agency Radar This Month

The idea of the Eagles signing a former Cowboys player is not appealing to some, considering how the DeMarco Murray era in Philadelphia ended. However, that’s neither here nor there, as Clowney proved to everyone last year that he still has something in the tank.

Clowney joined Dallas during the first month of the 2025 season and immediately became their pass rusher, which they needed after trading Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers before Week 1.

The 33-year-old Clowney led the Cowboys with 8.5 sacks and had an 80.6 pass rush grade, per Pro Football Focus, despite only making six starts (played 13 games in total). The veteran pass rusher also added 22 quarterback pressures, 12 tackles for loss, and 10 quarterback hits, which just illustrates his impact on that Cowboys’ defense.

Furthermore, Clowney also made sure to give it his all on run downs. According to Pro Football Focus, the veteran edge rusher boasted a 70.6 run defense grade and had 27 stops across 191 run defense snaps.

Despite his age, Clowney would fit in perfectly with what the Eagles already have off the edge with Nolan Smith Jr. and Jalyx Hunt. Smith and Hunt will get a bulk of the snaps, but having a guy like Clowney in the rotation who can still get after the quarterback and be a menace is worth taking a flyer on.

The Eagles saw it when they won the Super Bowl in 2024. There’s no such thing as too many quality pass rushers. And why not poach Clowney from your division rival, who doesn’t believe he’s a possible fit, and have him come in and get 5-7 sacks this upcoming season?

Spotrac projects Clowney’s market value as a one-year, $5.7 million contract, which the Eagles can easily afford with $34.8 million available in cap space, per Over The Cap.

That said, if the Eagles only take one edge rusher on Day 3 of the NFL draft, for example, we should not be surprised if they sign a veteran in free agency, as they do not want to be in the same position as they were last season.

More Philadelphia Eagles News and Rumors:

The Philadelphia Eagles didn’t make a huge splash at edge rusher after losing Jaelan Phillips, who signed a…

[2068
25,7,6,242,109,2476
0":"post-855673","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-philadelphia-eagles","8":"tag-eagles","9":"tag-football","10":"tag-nfl","11":"tag-philadelphia","12":"tag-philadelphia-eagles","13":"tag-philadelphiaeagles
["GET
