The Indianapolis Colts<\/a> are hosting Uar Bernard on a pre-draft visit, according to Luca Evans of the Denver Post.<\/p>\n

Haven’t heard of Bernard, a defensive tackle prospect? Most hadn’t until recently.<\/p>\n

Bernard, who is from Nigeria, is a part of the NFL’s International Pathway Program<\/a> (IPP) and began training back in mid-January. He then caught the attention of many at the NFL’s HBCU showcase event.<\/p>\n

According to The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman<\/a>, Bernard measured in at 6-4 1\/2, 306 pounds, and he has just six percent body fat.<\/p>\n

He also recorded a 39-inch vertical jump, a broad jump of 10-10, and he ran a 4.63-second 40-yard dash.<\/p>\n

Bernard, 21, is relatively new to the game of football and is quite raw from a technique standpoint. However, Feldman says he will be in Pittsburgh for the NFL draft, where one team could select him, as they bet on his size and athletic traits.<\/p>\n

“Bernard said playing in pads has been a big adjustment,” Feldman wrote. “He\u2019s confident in his strength and his ability to be physical, but developing his technique and learning all that goes into D-line play is the biggest hurdle. The IPP has worked with a lot of elite athletes from overseas, but few have blossomed into NFL starters.”<\/p>\n
