Former Miami Dolphins<\/a> running back Raheem Mostert was one of the players closest to former head coach Mike McDaniel, as the two worked together for five years in San Francisco and another three in South Florida.<\/p>\n

However, since De’Von Achane passed Mostert on the depth chart, eventually leading to Mostert’s release last offseason, the 33-year-old running back has expressed some rather negative opinions about McDaniel.<\/p>\n

While appearing on Jarvis Landry and Leonard Fournette’s “4th and South<\/a>” podcast, Mostert continued to share his disappointment with McDaniel’s leadership style and even revealed that it led to some physicality between a coach and player.<\/p>\n

“With the head coach, and look, I’m a 33-year-old running back, I don’t need somebody MF-ing me and telling me what to do, especially a head coach, because I’m going to probably talk to him sideways too. Look, I’m a grown man. I pay bills just like you. I don’t need you to talk to me like that,” Mostert said. “But I do need someone who players can respect. Respect goes a long way.<\/p>\n

“I felt like there was a lack of respect just because [McDaniel] didn\u2019t put any emphasis on trying to show respect to players, or at least try to demand respect… If you have guys cussing coaches out on the sideline, but not just one time, numerous times and even put hands on a coach, that\u2019s different.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mostert went on to say that McDaniel was a completely different coach and person in San Francisco and Miami. He also said that he believes that the Dolphins<\/a> fell apart due to complacency, due to the success they had early in McDaniel’s tenure.<\/p>\n
