Although their season ended in a 27-10 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL Wild Card round, the squad <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/draft2026\/story\/_\/id\/48303738\/2026-nfl-draft-team-needs-depth-chart-holes-prospect-fits\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">has much to build on<\/a> moving forward to the 2026 NFL season.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-1\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"53\">With Bryce Young emerging as an NFL caliber starter, the Panthers roared offensively at times with rookie receiver Tetairoa McMillan <a href=\"https:\/\/nflmocks.com\/panthers-tetairoa-mcmillan-has-nfl-offensive-rookie-of-the-year-well-in-his-sights-01k73zkenser\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">establishing himself as the team\u2019s top wide receiver<\/a>.\u00a0 On the defensive side of the ball, the Panthers leaned on rising stars like Pro Bowl cornerback Jaycee Horn, defensive tackle Derrick Brown, edge rusher Nic Scourton and safety Tre\u2019von Moehrig.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-2\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"56\">Can Panthers continue to build around the foundation that is being established in Carolina?<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-3\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"59\">In signing Jaelan Phillips and Devin Lloyd in free agency, the Panthers showed they mean business.\u00a0 Will that aggressive roster building continue in the <a href=\"https:\/\/nflmocks.com\/2026-nfl-draft\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">2026 NFL Draft<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-4\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"5c\">Here\u2019s a look at recent <a href=\"https:\/\/nflmocks.com\/mock-drafts\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NFL mock drafts <\/a>with predictions varying on who will be that next aggressive move at No. 19.<\/p>\n<p>NFL.com NFL Mock Draft: Panthers add another big man in the middle<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-6\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"5i\">With the additions of Phillips and Lloyd, the Panthers addressed a couple of key needs at pass rusher and linebacker, but should they be done addressing the front seven?\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/01knh289gpjjbwrd7kea.jpg\" alt=\"2026 NFL Draft prospect Lee Hunter\" title=\"2026 NFL Draft prospect Lee Hunter\" width=\"8150\" height=\"4584\" class=\"undefined w-full w-full blur-[5px]\" q:id=\"5s\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Texas Tech defensive lineman Lee Hunter  | Kirby Lee-Imagn Images<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-8\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"5w\">NFL.com\u2019s Nick Shook says no in his latest mock draft with the Panthers adding former Texas Tech star Lee Hunter to the mix<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfl.com\/news\/nick-shook-2026-nfl-mock-draft-1-0-jets-bills-load-up-at-wr-cardinals-jump-on-rb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> as a clog in the middle<\/a> who can defend against the run.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-9\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"5z\">Shook writes:<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-10\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"62\">\u201cAdding an excellent run defender next to ascending pass rusher\u00a0\ufeff\ufeff\ufeff<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfl.com\/players\/derrick-brown\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Derrick Brown<\/a>\ufeff\ufeff\ufeff\u00a0makes the most sense for a Panthers defense that already upgraded at edge rusher and inside linebacker this offseason. The potential of shaping the interior into a dynamic brick wall convinces former linebacker and current Panthers GM Dan Morgan to turn in the card.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-11\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"65\">Hunter checks that box in a massive way.\u00a0 Playing alongside David Bailey and Romello Height, the 6-foot-3, 318-pound Hunter led all of college football in run-defense stops in both 2024 and 2025.\u00a0 A physical presence in the middle, the high motor of Hunter will stand out as he is a versatile nose tackle who can play either the 3-4 or 4-3. Should he go as high as No. 19?\u00a0 If the Panthers like the fit, he is worth it.<\/p>\n<p>CBS Sports\u2019 NFL Mock Draft: Panthers add another cornerback talent<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-14\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"6d\">While Hunter is a player who can create havoc in the middle of the defensive line, CBS Sports\u2019 Josh Edwards feels No. 19 is a great spot for the Panthers to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbssports.com\/nfl\/draft\/news\/2026-nfl-mock-draft-seven-rounds-all-32-teams\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">add even more talent in the defensive backfield <\/a>by selecting Clemson product Avieon Terrell.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-15\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"6g\">Edwards writes:<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-16\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"6j\">\u201cCarolina continues stockpiling defensive talent. If Tyson or Kenyon Sadiq is not there, defense is an obvious move.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-39\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"8t\">While Hunter and Terrell will be fascinating additions, NFL Mocks went with McNeil-Warren <a href=\"https:\/\/nflmocks.com\/2026-nfl-mock-draft-cowboys-stun-nfl-grab-arvell-reese-jets-make-bold-moves-01knbtphmgpa\/4\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">to add to the safety group<\/a>.\u00a0 It\u2019s a position of high need and either Thieneman or McNeil-Warren are top prospects projected to land around where the Panthers will be selecting.\u00a0 As you see, No. 19 will be an intriguing spot for this NFC South squad.\u00a0 The Panthers really can\u2019t go wrong with any of these picks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Carolina Panthers won the NFC South in 2025 with an 8-9 record.
