Mandatory Credit: Michael Longo/For USA Today Network-PA / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images

The Aaron Rodgers saga drags on in Pittsburgh and when it ends remains to be seen.

And, we can’t say with 100% certainty it’ll end with Rodgers coming back instead of choosing to retire.

If that happens, the Steelers will be left with the unproven Will Howard and a career backup in Mason Rudolph.

Safe to say, the Steelers will need more competition in that scenario.

In Green Bay, the Packers are without a solidified backup, with guys like Desmond Ridder and Kyle McCord set to compete for the backup job behind Jordan Love after Malik Willis left for the Miami Dolphins in free agency.

Adding McKee as a backup makes sense for the Packers, who could then look to flip McKee at some point down the road.

Entering the offseason, the expectation was the Rams would simply re-sign Jimmy Garoppolo and have him continue to back up Matthew Stafford.

But Jimmy G remains available and it isn’t clear if he’s actually intent on returning to Los Angeles. If not, a Super Bowl contender like Los Angeles can’t rely on an unproven Stetson Bennett.

The Rams might be the best landing spot for McKee of the three mentioned here, as Stafford is basically year-to-year at this point and McKee would be in line to take over as the starter in 2027 if Stafford hangs up his cleats.

More NFL News

The Philadelphia Eagles have a clear trade candidate and we could see him landing with the Pittsburgh Steelers,…

[2055
7,6,520,57,2360,426
0":"post-856808","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-pittsburgh-steelers","8":"tag-football","9":"tag-nfl","10":"tag-pittsburgh","11":"tag-pittsburgh-steelers","12":"tag-pittsburghsteelers","13":"tag-steelers
["GET
