O.J. Simpson Decision<\/p>\n Simpson\u2019s on-field resume with the Bills isn\u2019t up for debate. He rushed for 10,183 yards across nine seasons in Buffalo, led the league in rushing four times, and became the first player in NFL<\/a> history to crack 2,000 rushing yards in a single season when he\u00a0ran for 2,003 yards<\/a>\u00a0in just 14 games in 1973. That year, he took home both the NFL MVP and Offensive Player of the Year awards. Simpson was acquitted in a 1995 criminal trial for murder, but a civil jury found him liable for their deaths in 1997. Then in 2008, he was convicted on armed robbery, kidnapping, and 10 other charges tied to a memorabilia confrontation<\/a>\u00a0in Las Vegas. He served nine years in prison. Simpson died in April 2024 at age 76 after a\u00a0battle with prostate cancer<\/a>.<\/p>\n Buffalo Bills New Highmark Stadium Near Completion<\/p>\n The timing makes this decision impossible to avoid. The new Highmark Stadium is\u00a0on track to open this summer<\/a>, with the Bills expected to take over the building at substantial completion on June 1, according to ESPN. Crews are tearing down the old building across the street, and fans are already scooping up memorabilia from the demolition \u2014 including\u00a0$5,000 urinal troughs<\/a>\u00a0that have become a collector obsession.<\/p>\n The Wall of Fame currently has 31 members. Simpson\u2019s name remained on it at the old stadium until the building closed.
