The NFL has yet to respond to Troy Aiman’s latest comments, where the NFL commentator and former Dallas Cowboys QB said he would be “pulling” for the Dolphins.<\/p>\n
Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman has continued to reveal more about his new role with the Miami Dolphins<\/a>. Meanwhile, the NFL<\/a> has continued to have nothing to say on the matter.<\/p>\n Pro Football Talk\u2019s Mike Florio, who has been critical of the potential conflict of interest the league<\/a> could have with Aikman broadcasting for ESPN and consulting for the Dolphins, reported Monday the NFL declined comment on Aikman\u2019s latest interview.<\/p>\n \u201cThe league previously has said it will address the situation \u201cat the appropriate time,\u201d wrote Florio<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cIn response to Aikman\u2019s latest comments, the NFL has declined comment.\u201d<\/p>\n In his latest comments<\/a>, the former Cowboys quarterback did little to suggest he won\u2019t have a conflict of interest when announcing Monday Night Football and providing other analysis for ESPN this season.<\/p>\n \u201cI will say I\u2019m pulling for the Dolphins . . . because now I have something at stake, and I think they hired two really talented, wonderful people, and I think that\u2019s gonna prove itself out,\u201d Aikman told Clarence E. Hill Jr. of DLLS Sports on March 31<\/a>. \u201cBut, yeah, I\u2019m pulling for them. I want to see them do well because I feel like my fingerprints are on it as well.\u201d<\/p>\n The Dolphins hired<\/a> the longtime broadcaster and Hall of Fame signal-caller as a consultant in January.
