The Seattle Seahawks<\/a> are coming into the 2026 NFL Draft with the fewest selections of any team across the NFL.<\/p>\n

Seattle has just four selections, with their own first-rounder at No. 32 overall, along with the 64th, 96th, and 188th overall selections.<\/p>\n

ESPN’s Bill Barnwell<\/a> proposed that the Seahawks could trade out of the first round with the Cleveland Browns<\/a> to land two extra picks and no longer own the fewest selections in the NFL this year.<\/p>\n

“Missing fourth- and fifth-round picks in this year’s draft after trading for Rashid Shaheed, Schneider has to be a heavy favorite to trade out of this selection and pick up some extra draft capital for the defending champions,” Barnwell writes.<\/p>\n

Instead of sticking and picking with the 32nd overall pick, the Seahawks could get some serious interest from around the league with their first-round pick.<\/p>\n

Barnwell’s idea would have the Seahawks sending the 32nd pick to the Browns for the 39th pick in Round 2, the 70th pick in Round 3, and the 149th pick in the fifth-round.<\/p>\n

This pick is the final selection in the 2026 NFL Draft that will come with a fifth-year option, which is very valuable for teams, especially when it comes to a quarterback on a rookie deal.<\/p>\n

If Ty Simpson, the Alabama quarterback, makes it to the Seahawks’ pick, then the Browns, and many other teams like the New York Jets<\/a> and Arizona Cardinals<\/a>, among others, could trade up with Seattle for Simpson.<\/p>\n

The Seahawks need to add more draft capital to help replenish their roster, which lost a lot of key players in Kenneth Walker III, Coby Bryant, Boye Mafe, and Riq Woolen.<\/p>\n

While Seattle would be missing out on the fifth-year option themselves, getting more dart throws in this year’s class is more valuable to Seattle with their roster construction.<\/p>\n

Plus, moving down just nine spots to the 39th pick would still let the Seahawks land a top-tier player while picking up some very valuable selections down the board.<\/p>\n
